HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-06-1946 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, MAY 6, 1946. Present: Councilman Minor, Fields, Slone and Vfhitaker, and Mayor Clahoun. Absent: Councilman Farmer. A quorum present. 199 The meeting was called to order by Councilman Minor at 8:15 P. M., and the minutes of last regular of April 15, 1946 were read and approved. Councilman Slone made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Funds: I I L. J. Lee, Salary to 4-22-46 Oakland-Winter Garden Fire Fund, to 5-11-46 James Porter, 6 hrs labor on truck Johnnie Adkison, 6 hrs labor on truck Moore's Feundry & Machine Shop Cap Howell, reading meters & meter book L. J. Lee, salary to 4-29-46 James Porter, 5 hrs labor on truck Johnnie Adkison, 5 hrs labor on truck W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 5Ql-46 L. J. Lee, Salary to 5-6-46 James Porter, 42 hrs labor on truck Joh~~e Adkison, 42 hrs labor on truck Cash paid out, postage & water sample express J. J. Robertson, driving truck from 3-30 to 5-4-46 Florida Telephone Corp. to apri1 10, 1946 Oakland-Winter Garden Fire. Fund to 6-11.46 S. Z. Councilman Slone made a motion for Mr. J. J. Robertson to drive garbage truck, and that Mr. L. J. Lee to collect and send off water samples at the regular times to be collected. This motion was seconded by Councilman Whitaker, voted upon and carried. Letter read from the Florida Telephone Corp. dated April 22, 1946 asking their assessment for the years 1944 and 1945 be reduced to $800.00, after much discussion, the Council asked they be notified that the assessment stand as is at $1,855.00. A discussion was had on the purchase of a fire truck 'from the Government at McDill Field at Tampa, Councilman Minor, Fields and Whitaker decided to go see about it, and the City to pay for the gas. Clerk presented two Notices of Application for Tax Deed to be sold on June 3rd 1946 on Lots 12 & 15, Lakeview sin and the lot.,South of Hudson's filling station owned by the Orange County Fruit Co. No action taken I There being no further business Councilman Fields made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. ~his motion was seconded by. Councilman Slone, voted and carried.
