Present: Councilmen Farmer, Fields, Minor, Slone and Whitaker and City Attorney. Absent: ~~yor Calhoun. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Farmer at 8:00 P.M. and the minutes of last regular meeting of ~~y G, were read and approved. Councilman Fields made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: ; (8) From General }i'und: L. J. Lee, salary to 5-13-46 James Porter, 5 hrs on truck Jotuuue Adkison, 5 hrs on truck J. J. Robertson, 5 hrs driving truck W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 5-15-46 James Porter, labor on truck Johnnie Adkison, labor on truck J. J. Robertson, driving truck L. J. Lee, marshal salary to 5-20-46 Florida Power Corp. power & lights to 5-3-46 C. M..Gay, Clerk of Circuit Court 17.50 2.50 2.50 2.50 50.00 2.25 2.25 3.80 17.50 60.45 38.95 1~e motion to pay aforesaid bills from the Bund above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Slone, Voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to have the Post Office Building abd City Hall fixed up, such as patching plaster, fix windows, put in shades, fix roof, and paint inside and outside. This motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. Councilrr.e.n Fields made a motion to appoint Councilmen Farmer and Whitaker as a committee to see about- the work mentioned above e.hd to get bias e.nd submit to Council at next meeting. This motion was seconded by Councilman Minor. Voted and carried. The CounciL. and Attorney discussed the Bond refunding plan, and have decided fully that the present plan will not work out since the excluded properties are noW exempt from any further taxation, it was decided that the se.me percentage of properties excluded should be reduced ~rom our indebtedness or better. There being no further business, Councilman Minor made a motion that the meeting ne adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields., voted and carried, Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 10:25 P. M. ATTEST: ~~ City Clerk. ~Jor~~
