MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF'THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
MONDAY, JULY 1, 1946.
Present: Councilman Fields, Slone and ~~itaker. City Attorney
and Mayor Calhoun.
Absent: Councilmen Farmer and Minor
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman Slone at 8:20 P.M.
and the minutes of the last regular meeting of June 17, 1946 were
read and approved.
Councilman Fields made a motion to approve the payment of the
following bills:
(a) From General Fund:
Henry Cothrum, 4t hrs labor
Roy Jones, 4~ hrs labor
J. J. Robertson, 4 hrs driving truck
Larry Daniels, 4 hrs labor
James Porter, 4 hrs labor
L. J. Lee, Marshal salary to 6-24-A6
Cap Howell, 7t hrs reading meters
Larry Daniels,. 4 hrs labor
Buster Calhoun, 4 hrs labor
\Iv. H. Wurst, Clerk<!:s salary to 7-1-46
Florida Telephone Corp. to June 10, 1946
J. B. Rodgers, Jr. Retainer for'June
W. H. Calhoun, 2 days pumping water @ $2.85
Oak~and-Winter Garden Fire Fund to 8-11-46
Iserman & Company, Grill settlement

The motion to pay aforesaid bills from the fund mentioned above
was seconded by Coumcilman Whitaker, voted and carried.
Mr. Girganus present to ask Council about running a'water line
.to his property at South City limits and West of Railroa.d, Also
Mr. Fields asked for a water line run to his property in Hickey's
Subdivision, This was referred to the water committee.
Councilman Fields made a motion to set the ~~rshalls arresting fee
at $2.00 as called for by Ordinance originally. This motion was
seconded by Councilman Whitaker, voted and carried.
Mr. L. J. Lee turned in his resignation for the good of his health
effective as of June 24th, And Mr. A. I. Barker was present to made
bid for the job. Councilman ~~itaker made a motion to hire Mr. Barker
at $22.50 per week dating from June 27th as the Mayor has sworn in
Mr- Barker as of that date subje9t to the approval of the Council.
Councilrr~n Field seconded the motion, voted and carried.
Attorney Rodgers reported that he was to see Leedy Vfueeler Bonding
Firm in Orlando on July 2nd to see if they will favor of taking up
our bonded debt at a figure less than 50 cents of the dollar in order
to get the Crummer Company out of the picture.
Since the 1946 assessments has not been made, the Council could not
determine at this time what the assessment for the Florida Telephone
Corp. would be as asked for in a let ter from the Telephone Co. '
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion
tha t the meeting be adj ourned. This motion was se conded by Councilman
~~itaker, voted and carried, Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 10:40 P.M.
