MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
MONDAY, APRIL 21, 1947
Present: Oouncilmen Brown, Bryan, Fields, Minor and Slone.
Mayor Oalhoun and City Attorney
Absent: None
A quorum present.
The Meeting was called to order byOhairman Bryan at 7:00 P.M. and
the minutes of last regular meeting held April 7, 1947 were read
and approved.
Councilman Brown made a motioIT! to approve the payment of the
following bills:
(a) From General Fund:
A. I. Barker, salary to 4-15-47 $67.50 and cash
for hauling garbage $9.00
W. H. Wurst, 61erk Salary to 4-15-47
M. o. Bryan, setting 5 water meters and repairs
on four meters
C. R. Freeman, gas for truck
Florida Power Corp. power & lights to 4-4-47
Florida Telephone Oorp. bill to 4-10-47
Burgess Press, printing water cards
Layne-Atlantic Co. _payment on new water pump

The motion to pay aforesaid bills from fund mentioned above was
seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
The representatives of the Layne-Atlantic Company of Orlando were
present to discuss with the Council the needs of a complete new
pump&ng equipment, due to the condition of the equipment just taken
out for repairs. the new equipment complete to cost $1,980.90 which
they will allow $100.00 for omd equipment and a cash discount of 5%
in 30 '.days. A motion to purchase the new equipment was made by Coun-
cilman Brown and was seconded by Coumcilman Fields. voted and carried.
Councilman Brown made a motion that Freeman to cover pool table on
Sundays or close up, also to prohibit the sale of beer inside the City
limits on Sundays, this motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted
upon and carried.
The City attorney set out reasons why tax foreclosures should not go
through on property with improvements, after much discussions, the
Council agreed to the Plan to accept l~~ on the dollar for taxes for
1943 and prior, and for the City attorney to make plan effective at
once.
The City Attory was instructed to look into and draft an Ordinance to
place a 10% tax increase on all utilities, or ~ne similar to the one
Apopka now has in effect.
There being no further business, Councilman Brown made a motion that
the meeting be adjourned, This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields
voted upon and carried, therepon, the Council adjourned at 9:10 P. M.
