MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNOIL OF THE CITY OF OCOES. FLORIDA. HELD
.TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 1947.
Present: Councilmen Brown, Bryan, Minor and Slone. and Mayor Calhoun.
Absent: Councilman l!lie1ds.
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chaiman Bryan at 7:45 P. M. and the
minutes of last regular meeting held May 19, 1947 were read and approved.
Councilman Minor made a motion to approve the paymant of the following
bills, except that of the M. & M. Welding Shop.

A. I. Barker. caSh for hauling garbage and shavings
A. I. Barker, marshal salary to 6-1-47
W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary .to 6-1-47
Cliff .E~eeman, Gas fro truck
A. I. Barker, marshal fees
w. H. Calhoun, Mayor's fees
V,. H. Wurst, Clerk's .fees
Bowness ~ervice Station
E. E. Mason, gas f~r truck
Orlando ~entinel-Star
Winter ~arden Hardware Co.
Davis Meter Repaid Co.
Oakland-Winter Garden Fire Fund to 7-11-47

The motion to pay aforesaid bills from fund above mentioned was seconded
by Councilman ~rown, voted and carried.
Clerk read letter from Crouse and 00, of Detroit., Councilman Brown made
a motion that the letter be turned over to Mr. Rodgers for handling, this
motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried.
Councilman Slone made a motion that during the swnmermonths to cut the
Marshal's salary to $100.00 per month. ~his motion died for lack of a
sec ond.
~lerk submitted the 1947 tax rolls showing the names of each tax payer,
the desoription of suc~ property and amount assessed. Counoilman Minor
made a motion to aocept the 1947 tax rolls as submitted, this motion was
seoonded by Oounoilman Brown, voted and carried.
Clerk was instruoted to notify the. property owners whose assessed valuation
was increased, and set aside the first meeting in July, being 7th 1947 to
hear oomplaints either in writing or in person. ~his motion was seoonded
by Counoilman Minor, voted and oarried.
There being no further business, Councilman Brown made a motion that
the meeting be adjourned, This motion was seoonded by Counoilman Minor,
voted and carried, thereupon, the Counoil adjourned at 9:20 P. M.
