HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-07-1947 I I I 283 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING Ojj' THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD MONDAY, JULY 7, 1947 Present: Councilman Bryan, Brown, Fields and Slone. Absent: Oouncilman M.i nor. A Quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:45 P.M. and the minutes of last regular meeting held June 16, 1947 were read and approved. Councilman Fields made a motion to ~pprove the payment of the following b1'lls, except that of the M. M. Welding shop and the Da vis Meter Repair Company. (a) From ~eneral Fund: A. I. Barker, marshal fee on two cases W. H. Calhoun, Mayor's fee on two cases W. H. Wurst, Clerk's fee on two cases A. I. Barker, Marshal's salary to 6-15-47 W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 6-15-47 A. I. Barker, cash for hauling garbage five weeks A. I. Barker, Marshal's salary to 7-1-47 Cash paid out, water sample and postage lnorida. Power Corp. power & lightato 6-5-47 W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 7-1-47 ~illiam Grocery, gas & oil R. J. MObley - 1 shovel for streets ;b'lorida Telephone Corp. bill to 6-10-47 ROdgers-Kirkland, Utility Ordinance and retainer fee for May and June .4.00 2.00 2.00 67.50 50.00 23.50 67.50 6.17 61.05 50.00 7.02 2.00 6.66 35.00 The motion to pay aforesaid bills from the fund above mentioned was seoonded by Counoilman Brown, Voted upon and carried. Counoilman Brown made a motion to table all various Tax Assessments Complaints to a later date, this motion Was seconded by Counoilman Fields, motion carried. Counoilman Slone voted NO. The Clerk read a petition with 69 signers, asking the Council to disoharge the Marshal and apply his salary towards the payment of the new water pump, and to eliminate the 10% Utility Tax, as it creates a burden on the citizens. Cbunoilman Brown made a motion to table this petition, and ~s seoonded by Councilman Fields, motion carried, Councilman Slone voted Nol Councilman Brown made a motion to accept the Resolution Describing The Boundaries of The Town of Oooee Wherein the Utility Taxes are. to be Colleoted. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, motion carried, Counoilman ~lone voted NO. ~here being no further business, Councilman Brown made a motion that the meeting be recessed until called, This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried, thereupon, the Oouncil zeoessed at 9~50 P.M.
