MINUTES OF THE SPlOOUL MEETING OF THE CIn
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
ViEDNESDAY, NOVEMB:ER 5, 1947.

A quorum present.
ThiS meeting was called for the purpose of oonfirming the
votes of the Bagular City Election held November 4, 1947.
The meeting was oalled to order a~ 7:10 P. M. by ChairmaD
Bryan.

The Clerk read the results of the election from the tally
sheets, the results are as fOllow.: For Mayor for the term
of Two years, W. H.Calhotln 49 votes, H. B. "Buzzn Flewelling
50 votes, Bud Owens 101 votes. - For Cotlnoilmen for the term
of tyo years, L. L. Asher 87 votes, S. Z. Fields 69 votes,
Barney'L. Pittman 50 votes, M. B. Slone 66 votes, Jemes J.
Wiggins 106 votes. Whereupon Bud Owens was eleoted as Mayor,
and L. L. Asher and James J. Wiggins was elected as Councilmen.
~he total number of votes cast was 20!. Counoilman Fields made
a motion t~ acoept the count of votes, this motion was seoonded
by Councilman Brown, voted and oarried.
Mayor Owens was sworn in by W. H. Wurst a Notary Publio, and in
turn, Mayor Owens swore in Co~noilmen ~. L. Asher and James J
Wiggins.
Counoilman Minor made a motion that Councilman Bryan be appointed
as Chairman, This motion was seconded by Councilman Brown, Voted
and oarried.
The Council recessed until 7:00 P. M. Monday night November 10, 1947.
