HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-04-1947 I I ~ 115 MINUTE3 OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF. OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD THURSDAY, DEOEMBER 4th, 1947. Present: Councilmen Asher, Brown, Bryan and Wiggins, and Mayor Owens. Absent: Councilman Minor. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chariman 3ryan at 7:15 P.M., and the minutes of the last regular meeting of ~ovember 17, 1947, were read and approved. Councilman Brown made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: ta) from the General Fund: C. G. Sanders, marshal salary from 11-13- to 12-1-47 ii. H. Wurst, Clerkl s salary. to 12-1-47 state Bank of Apopka, $1,000. on the $5,000. note and $83.33 interest to December 14, 1947 Cash paid out~ ~arbage and street work A. D. Gilliam, gas and oil Rodgers and Kirkland, retainer for Oct. & Nov. Florida TelepUone Corp. bill to 11-10-47 Oakland-VHnt er Garden Fir.e Fund to 1-11-48 M. & M. We!ding Shop. repair ohlorinator L. L. Asher, repair toilets in jail 81.00 50.00 1,083.33 18.77 6.05 10.00 4.60 20.84 4.00 14.47 (b) ~om the Utility Tax Fu~ Layne-Atlantio Company, pump payment 108.45 The motion to pay aforesaid bills from the funds above mentioned was seo onded by Counoilman Wiggins ,a nd carr ied by a vot e of the Council. Counoilma n Brown IIl8 de a mot ion for Mr. Bfyan to camp let e the repairs to the Post Office and Uity Hall Building, as to the roof, plastering and windows. This motion was seoonded by Councilman Asher, and carried by a vote of the Counoil. Counoilman Brown made a motion to pay the State Bank of Apopka $1,000.00 to apply on the $5,000.00 note, and to pay interest up to Deoember 14th 1947, amount of interest being in the amount of $83.33. This motion was seoonded by Counoilman Asher, abd oarried by a vote of the Counoil. The Counoil requested an Ordinance regulating pool rooms ~perations, ages under 18 forbidden, 'and to olose at 11: 00 P. M. on week days and I 12:00 Midnight on Saturday nights and to remain olosed nntil Monday morning, and to include any disorderly 'conduot. Councilman Brown made a motion to acdept ahd adopt the Ordinanoe Relating to Extending Boundaries of the City of Oooee, at its Third and Final reading, and that the President of the Council, the Mayor and the Clerk to sign and put in order. This motion was seoonded by Councilman Asher, and oarried by a vote of the Council. There being no further business, Oouncilman Brown made a mot.ion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Asher, voted upon and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 8:55 P.M. AT~~ Oi ty Clerk. 1J~It!~
