MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
THURSEAY. APRIL 22, 1948
Present: Councilman Asher, Brown, Bryan, Minor and Wiggins. '
Absent; Mayor Owens.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:45 P. M. and
the minutes of the last regular meeting of April 1, 1948 were read
and approved.
Councilman Brown made a motion. to approve the payment of the following
bills:
(a) From General Fund:
G. W. 'Stephens, marsjal salary to 4-15-48
W. H. Wurst,Clerk's salary to 4-15-48
Motor Vehicle Commissioner, Tfr. fire truck titles
M. & M. Welding ShOBe pump checking
Gilliam's Grocery, as and Oil
Johnnies Service Station,. Gas, Oil and Truck repairs
Coggins's Service Station, Gas and oil .
Florida Power Corp. power and Lights to 4-6-48
Cash paid out, $22.75 Street & Garbage;.27 water Ex.
J. C. Clark, rtepair'to truck
Jim Black - Sheriff, costs Ocoee Fruit Pkrs. case
Rodgers-Kirkland, fee's Ocoee Fruit Packers paper
Army-Navy Surplus Store, 240 feet fire hose
(b) From Utility Tax:

The Motmon to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was
seconded by Councilman Wiggins, carried by a vote of Council.
Clerk read letter from Post Office Department, Washington D.C., dated
April 16, 1@48 and addressed to Postmaster, Ocoee, Fla., in this letter
was offered the sume of $240.00 per annum fpr Post Office Quarters for
space. alone. C'ouncilman Wiggins made a motion to accept the $240.00 for
space alone for the Post Office Quartes, this motion was seconded by
Councilman asher, Voted and carried.
Councilman Wiggins made a motion for the Marshal to collect $5.00 each
Saturday night from C. R. Freeman until his City License are paid in full,
or failure of any payment made, to close him up until it is made up. This
, motion was seoonded by Councilman Brown, voted upon and carried.
Councilman Brown made a motion that no store be permitted to open on
Sunday's, This motion died for lack of second.
There being no further business, Councilman Brown made a motion that
the meeting be adjourned~ This motion was seconded by Councilman Wiggins,
voted and carriedl Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 9;30 P.M.
