' Present: Councilmen Asher, Brown, Bryan and Wiggins. Absent: Councilman Minor and Mayor Owens. A Quorum present. \ The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:45 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held July 16, 1948 were read and approved. . Councilman Brown made a motion to approved the payment of the following bills: .( ~)~.r~o~. General Fund: .. C. G. Sanders, marshal salary to 8-1-48 w. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 8-1-48 Cash paid out, garbage and postage stamps Florida Telephone Corp. bill to 7-10-48 Florida Power Corp. power and lights to 7-9-48 Johnnies Service Station, greasing fire trucks R. J. Mobley, one shovel street sept. Hollands Gro. Gas for dump truck M. & M.-Welding Shop, water dept. Raymond G. Dickson, material for sirene Moore's Foundry, castings for storm sewers Orlando drmature Works, Inc., material for sirene Walker Electric Co. material for'sirene 67.50 50.00 10.00 6.02 53.47 3.00 2.00 2.76 18.00 .36 90.00 16.48 3.20 (b) Utility Tax Fund: Asher-Fairchild, 189 ft. Galv 2" pipe (c) Interest & Sinking Fund: The Crumrner Company, retire $3,700. City Bonds 85.41 2,025.00 The motion to pay afotesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Wiggins, voted upon and carried. Mr. 1. D. Grant ~as-present to ask for his 1948 Tax Assessment be reduced as was agreed at last equilization board meeting, but due to , his improvements the Council coul~ not grant the reduction. Cou~cil instructed Clerk to write a letter to the Florida Telephone Co. that they could cut trees where absolutely necessary to guanantee. better service, but to contact Marshal Sanders before cutting any tree. Clerk to write a letter to Hoyle Pounds, Winter Garden Fire Chief to discontinue their fire services, and to call on us if we can be of some service to them, and ask that they do likewise. Write Interstate Commerce Commission and State Road Department to get T. & G. Railroad to fix their crossing. A motion to this was made by, Councilman Brown and seeonded by Councilman ,Asher, voted and carried. I There being no further business, Councilman Brown made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
