Absent: None A quorum Present. .. The meeting was called to order by Chatrman Bryan at 7:30 P. M and the minutes of the last regular meeting of September 16, 1948 were read and ,approved. Councilman Brown made a motion to ~pprove the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Fund: A. E. J e\'lel, 40 hrs labor on streets I. H. Davis, 35 hrs.lapor on streets w. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 10-1-48 C. G. Sanders, Marshal salary to 10-1-48 I. H. DaVis, 42 hrs labor on streets A. E. Jewel, 42 hrs labor on streets Roy Broadwater, 9~ hrs labor mowing streets @$2.50 Cash paid out, garbage hauling Rushing Garage, repairs to dump truck R. J. Mobley, 1 potato digger & file, street dept. Coggin Sehll Station, gas for street dep.t Florida Power Corp. power & Lights to 9-7-48 Rodgers and Kirkland, bill rendered 10-1-48 Florida 1elephone Co. bill to 9-10-48 Bowness Service Station, battery & cable~ dump truck J. J. Wiggins, fire house rent to 10-1-4~ Burnett Chemical & Supply Co. 2 cases H.T.H. I. H. Davis, 50 hrs labor on streets A. E. Jewel, 50 hrs labor on streets 20.00 21.00 50.00 67.50 25..20 21.00 23.75 12.00 28.30 2.35 6.75 40.70 80.00 7.30 10.96 6.00 40.59 30.00 25.00 The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. After the Council reviewed the antieipated receipts and expenditures for the coming fiscal year and the Tax Ordinance, Councilman Brown made ,a motion to adopt this Tax Ordinance for 1948 and set a millage . of 23 for Homestead property and 30 mills for non-homestead property. .This motion was seconded by COuncilman Asher, Voted and carried. Councilman Bro~m made a motion to accept the Florida Power Corporationl contract for thirteen (13) street lights at a cost of $32.50 per month and that the Mayor, Clerk and Chairman sign this contract. This motion was seconded by Councilman Asher, voted and carried. at thi~ ~ime th~ Council r~viewed the Registration book, 22 names were ordered' stricken-<from.i.the .:book~;of those who have died or otherwise are disqualified to vote in regular City election to be held November 2nd, '. 1948. There bEhing no further business, Councilman Brown made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
