MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ~ffiETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1948
Present: Councilmen Asher, Bryan, Minor Wiggins and Mayor Owens.
Absent: ~
A
quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by, Chairman Bryan at 7:30 P. M.
and the minutes of the last regular meeting of October 7, 1948
were read and approved.
Councilman Wiggins made a motion to approve the payment of the
follm.,ing 'bills:
(a) From General Fund:
\'1. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 10-15-48
c. G. Sanders, Marshal salary to 10-15-48
Cash paid out, garbage hauling two weeks
Johnnies Service Station, Gas, oil & tire
Florida Telephone Corp. bill to 10-10-48
G. W. Stephens, l~ days special marshal
I. H. Davis, 54 hrs labor on streets

The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was
seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried.
Councilman Minor made a motion to have the City Election Polls to
open at 7:00 O'Clock A. M. Novemver 2, 1948 and remain open until
7:30 P. M. This motion was seconded by Councilman Wiggins, voted and
carrie,d "
Councilman Wiggins made a motion to pay Clerk and Inspector and
election Deputy $5.00 for the day. This motion was seaonded by
Councilman fisher, voted and .carried.
Councilman Wiggins made a motion to arnendsOrdinance No. 45 ~ a~sess
each person seeking office of Councilman $7.50 and the Mayo~/~geking
office as a qualification fee to help defray election expenses. This
motion was seconded by Councilman Asher, voted and carried.
Councilman Minor made a motion to have work started immediately to
extend the 2 inch water line North from Mr. Edmond Black's property
to Block "A" Seegar Subdivision, This motion was seconded by Councilman
Wiggins, voted and carri~d.
Councilman Wiggins made a motion to pay G. W. Stephens l~ days @ $4.50
for special marshal on day of boat races. This motion was seconded by
Councilman asher, voted and carried.
Councilman Minor made a motion to adopt Ordinance for closing of the
Nilof Alley which lies on East side of Lot 27, Block 3, Town of Ocoee,
and on the west ends of Lots 47, 48, 84 and 85, Block 3 of Town of
Ocoee, to construck a portion of the proposed fire house. This motion
was seconded by Councilman Asher, voted and carried.
There. being no further business, Councilman Asher made a motion that th~
meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Wiggins,
voted and carried, Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 9:00 P. M.
