MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
THURSDAY. NOVEMBER 18. 1948.
Present: Councilmen Asher, Bryan, Murray, Richbourg and Wiggins,
Also Mayor Owens.
Absent: NOne
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:30 P. M. and
the minutes of the last regular meeting of November 4, 1948 were read
and approved.
Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills:
(a) General Funds:
I. H. Davis, 54 hrs labor on streets
w. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 11-15-48
C. G. Sanders, Marshal's salary to 11-15-48
Cash paid out, postage and garbage hauling
J. H. Fox, plumbing labor and materials
R. J. Mobley, materials for street dept.
M. C. Bryan, 40 hrs laying watep. lines & setting meters
D.-B. Hall, 63 hrs labor l~ying water lines
Iserman'& Company, pipe and couplings
W. H. Wurst Agency, Clerk's Bond
Burnett Chemical & Supply Co. 45 Ibs H.T.H.
Motor Vehicle Commissioner, 194~X tag for truck
I. H. Davis, 8 hrs labor on streets .
(b) Utility Tax Fund:
Trustees of Ocoee Christian Church, lot for fire house$lOO.OO

The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mention was seconded
by Councilman Richbourg. Voted and carried.
Councilman Richbourg made a motion to have Clerk to contact all property
owners of vacant lots by post cards, to have them cleaned within the next
30 days or the City will do it and be charged to next year's taxes, and .
advise them that a tractor will be available at $1.50 per hour, This
motion was seconded by COuncilman Murray, voted and carried.
Councilman Murray made a motion to have deed made over to'7.the Ocoee
Christian Church Trustees, the South end of the 12 foot alley which
has just been closed by Ordinance, of which north end'will be used to
construct a building for the Fire Department. This motion was seconded
by Councilman Asher, Voted and carried.
Councilman Richbourg made a motion to appoint Councilman Wiggins as
Vice-Chairman, this motion was seconded by Councilman Murray, voted
and carried.
Councilman Asher made a motion to accept application of G. W. Stephens
for job as Marshal, and to take effect December 1, 194~ This motion was
seconded by Councilman Richbourg, voted and carried.
Councilman Asher made a motion to accept application of W. H. Wurst for
job of Clerk-Treasurery. This motion was seconded by Councilman Murray,
voted and carried.
Chairman Bryan appointed Councilman Richbourg as head of street committee,
with Councilman Murray as assisting - Councilman Murray as head of
Sanitary committee with COuncilman Ricbourg assisting - Councilman Asher
as.head of water committee with Councilman Wiggins assisting - Councilman
Wiggins as head of street and equipment committee with Councilman Asher
assisting.
There being no further business, Councilman Murray made a motion that the
meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Asher, voted
and carried, Thereupon, the COuncil adjourned at 10:25 P. M.
