HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-06-1949 I I I ',- 169 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ~lEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD THURSDAY, JANUARY 6. 1949 Present: Councilmen Asher, Bryan, Murray, Richbourg and Wiggins. Absent: Mayor Owens. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:30 P. M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held December 16, 1948 were read and. approved. Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills :. (a) General Fund: Richard Bodiford, 7 hrs street labot @ .60i 4.20 w. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 1-1-49 50.00 G. W. Stephen, marshal salary to 1-1-49 67.50 W. J. Coggins, gas for street dept. 2.73, Gilliam Grocery gas for fire trucks 10.13 Cash paid out, ~6.50 office supplies $19'.75 St.Lbd. 26.25 Florida Power Corp. power & lights to 12-7-48 78.47 Florida Telephone Co. bill to 12-10-48 6.30 W. H. Wurst Agency, Fire Insurance on City Hall 49.20 Burgess Press, printing for water dept. 22.50 State Bank of Apopka, apply on note 1,000.00 H. M. Moore, 4 days special marshal @ $~.50 18.00 (b) From Interest and Sinki~g Fund: First National Bank, Chicago, Interest due 1-1-49 688.65 The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman rlsher, voted and carried. Councilman Asher made a motion to go ahead with cleaning all lots, but to use discression in doing so, and to have someohe to supervise. This motion was seconded by Couficilman Richbourg, voted and carried. Councilman Wiggins made a motion to amend that portion of minutes of of December l6, 1948 in borrowing $2,000. from State Bank of Apopka. and to a uthorize the Mayor and Clerk to negotiate the Loan 1 a nd that all members of the Council to sign note, which will be paid $lUO. per month from Utility Tax Fund plus interest. This motion was seconded by Councilmal Richbourg, voted and carried. . Councilman Wiggins made a motion to pay the State Bank of Apopka, $1,000. to a~~ly on the $4,000. This motion was seconded by Coun?ilman Murray, voted and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Murray made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
