Absent: Councilman !\1urray and Mayor Owens. 193 A quorum present . The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 8:00,P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held June 16, 1949 were read and approved. . Councilman Wiggins made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills~ (ffi) From General Fund: J. L. George, labor on streets to 6-25-49 W. H. Wurst, Clerks salary to 7-1-49 Ferrell Wilson, Police salary to 7-1-49 J. L. George, 'street labor to 7-2-49 Cash paid out, garbage hauling Rogers and Kirkland, retainer fee for May & June 1949 Dees and Lee, gas,' oil and parts, to. 6-27-49 Florida Power C0rp. Power and lights to 6-8-49 Bowness Station, Battery ch~rging and trips R. J. Moble~, materials for street dept. Asher & Fairchild, 'bill rendered 6-20-49 George Stuart Inc., trpewriter rental for taxes . ,Moore T s Fmllndry, Water meter boxes and covers M. & M. Welding Shop, July 1st bill Florida Telephone Corp. bill to 6-10-49 (b) From Utility Tax Fund: Winter Garden Hdwe Co. materials for fire house door L. L. Councilman Wiggins made a motion. that the Clerk write to Rogers and Kirkland,that the $5.00 per month retainer fee be discontinued as of July 1st, as they have not lived up to the agreement Rodgers made at first. This motion was seconded by Councilman ~sher, voted and carried. Counc,ilman Asher made a motion for the 'Council to go on. through with the lifting of the rent controls for Ocoee according to Law, giving ten days notice and tneJmeeting~to hear complaints will be held July 21st,1949. This motion' was seconded by C~uncilman Richbourg. Councilman Wiggins voted NO. voted an4 carried. Clerk is instructed to call Telephone Co about getting oak tree .cut doWQ in front of M.C. Reeves house. Councilman Wiggins, made a motion to let the Lions Club use the'upstairs to the fire house for their meeting place on each MOnday nights. This motion was ,seconded by Councilman Richbourg, voted and carried. Councilman Asher made a motion to write the C'ounty Commissioners~.take over the brick street running east from Bill Pease house and maintain since this property on each side of street is excluded for Town for taxation pUrposes. This motion was seconded by COuncilman Richbourg, voted and carried. ~ The Council has authorized Mr. Johnson to have septic tank installed at a place of their conv'enience for the Trade School, t'...:. .' .. ;., . , There being no further business, Councilman Wiggins made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
