Present: Councilmen Bryan; Murray, Richbourg and Wiggins, Also Mayor Owens. Absent: Councilmen A~her. , ' I The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at-8:00 P. M. and the minutes of the las~ regular meeting held July 21, 1949 were read and approved. I Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Fund: J. L. George; street labor through 7-23-49 Edgar ,Tavlor; 27 hrs trimming trees @ .50~ J. L. George, street'labor through 7-30-49 W. H. Wurst, Clerk's salary to 8-1-49 Ferrell Wilson, Police salary to 8-1-49 J. L. George; street labor through 8-6-49 Dees and Lee, gas, oil and labor through July 26, (b) From Utility T~ Fund: City of Ocoee, General Fund, Re~imburse Loan State Bank of Apopka, apply on $2,000. loan 33~00 l3~50 33~00 50~00 50.00 15.00 24.28 100.00 107.00 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Wjggins, voted and carried. Letters read from Jim Burden, Tax Assessor for Orange County'pertaining to personal property assessments in the City limits of coee, and from~ Board of aounty C~mmissioners taking over the street running east from W. D. Pease to City limits; Also letters from Dr. Sam R. Scott ann H. L. Baumgardner concerning the increase in tax assessment of their property. ' Mr. Lawrence D. Grant owner of the trailer park was present to ask the ' CouncilJfor permission to re-survey his property described as, Lots 1,2, 3,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 of Maguires addition and a new plat drawn to leave out the "L" shaped street in the Northwest corner of the property, after much discussion, Councilman Murray made a motion that the City give ~w. Grant permission to have the property re-surveyed'and a new plat drawn, this motion was seconded by councilman Richbourg, voted upon and carried. There was a. discussion about the building restrictions in Marion Park, Councilman Wiggins made a motion that all lots from the north side of Oakland Avenue to the School property on the south and east to the lake shore, be restricued for dwellings only not to cost less than $3,100.00 and that no permits to be issued without first presenting to the City Council any building-plans and duly passed upon. This motion was seconded by Councilman Murray, Voted and carried. Council discussed about appointing a special policemanfor a limited time, to begin on Saturday at noon until 12:00 midni"ght; Councilman Wiggins made a motion that Mayor Owens appoint a man suitable for the job, this motion was seconded by Councilman Richbourg, voted and carried. . There being no further business, Councilman Wiggins made a motion that,the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Richbourg, voted and carried.
