HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-01-1949 I 201 lvlINUTES OF THE REGULAR lvlEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, -FLORIDA, HELD THURSDAY, SEPTE~'1BER 1., 1949 Present: Councilmen Asher, Bryan and Murray - Also Mayor Owens. Absent: Councilmen Richbourg and Wiggins. The meeting~s called to order by chairman Bryan at 8:00 P. M. and the minutes of last regular meeting held August 4th 1949 were read and approved. Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills, all other bills were set aside until.sufficient money comes in. (a) From General Fund: J. L. George, street labor through 8-13-49 Ferrell Wilson, police salary to 8-15-49 w. H. Wurst, Glerk salary to 8-15-49 Cash paid out, Garaage hauling & street cleaning J.,L. George, Street-laboD through 8~20-49 State Bank of Apopka, interest on $3,000. note J. L. George, Street labor through 8-27-49 Ferrell Wilson, Police salgry to 9-1-49 Bees 'and Lee', battery and Gas & oil to 8-30-49 Florida Power Corp. power & lights to 8-10-49 M. & M. Welding Shmp, mower paTts Winter Garden Hdwe Co. mower parts Pounds Motor Co. mower parts Black Laboratories Inc., 1 pint orthotolidine Cash paid out, garbage hauling (b) From Utility Tax Fund: State Bank of Apopka, apply on $2,000.00 note 33.00 50.00 50.00 28.30 33.00 150.00 33.00 67.50 37 .05 70 ~ OJ~ 2.75 5.10 8.95 1.65 20.50 106.50 A ~otmon to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned wa~ seconded by Cnuncilman ~sher, voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion to adopt the Florid~ Highway Patrol' Manual for use in any and all trafic violations and their penalties, This motion was seconded by Councilman Asher, Voted and carried, Council instructed Clerk to write a letter to Mr. S. T. Salisbury, to ask him to remove his fence which is set in the street and all trees and shrubery he has planted, for the purpose of grading up the full width of the street. Councilman Murray mane a motion to'assept the 1949 tax roll assessment and as amended on August 30th 1949, 'at which time ro meeting was held to hear complaints as to. assessment. This motion was seconded by CouncilmaJ Asher, voted and 'carried.. ' There being no further business, Councilman Asher made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Murray, voted and carried. Thereupon, the council adjourned at 9:15 P. M. ATTEST: ~~ City Clerk. 1Jf~~
