MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORI~A, HELD
THURSDAY., SEPTEr-mER 15, 1949
Present: Councilmen Asher, Bryan, Richbourg and Wiggins,
Also Mayor Owens.

Absent: Councilman Myrray,
. A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:30 P.M. and
the minutes of last regular meeting held September 1, 1949 were read
and approved.
Councilman Wiggins made a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills, all other bills were tabled until sufficient funds are available.
(a) From General Funds:
J. L. George, street labor through 9-3-49
R. B. Howard, 53 hrs labor on streets @ .60i
J. M. James, 50 hrs labor on streets @ .60~
J. T. Lindsey, 10 hrs labor on streets @ .60i
J. R. Lasseter, 3$ hrs labor on syreets @ .60i
Sam Oliver 20 hrs labor on streets @ .60i
J. L. George, IV hrs labor on streets @ .60i
J. M. James, 21~ brs labor on streets @ .60i
Ferrell Wilson, police salary to 9-15-49
Cash paid out, garbage hauling
Rogers and Kirkland, conference
Florida Telephone Co. bill to $-10-49
M. & M. Welding Shop, labor on mo\rlng machine
Winter Garden Hardware Co. mower parts
Amica-Burnett Chemical Supply Co. 2 drums H.T.H.
Finleys Municipal Supply Co. 6 curb stops
W. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 9-1-49
A motion to aforesaid bills from fund above mentioned
Councilman Asher, voted and carried.

City Attorney Tom Kirkland present and reviewed the anticipated receipts
and enpenditures presented to the COuncil by City Clerk, for the coming
fiscal year eommencing on November 1, 1949. Whereupon it was deemed
necessary to set a millage of 23 mills for Homestead property and 30
mills for non-homestead property, The C~uncil instructed Attorney
Kirkland to prepare the necessary Tax Ordinance to be presented at the
next regular meeting. Councilman Wiggins made a motion to accept the
above set millage for the 1949 tax rolls, this motion was seconded by
COuncilman Richbourg, voted upon and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Richbourg made a motion that
. the meetmng be adtlourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Asher,
voted and, carried, Thereupon, the Council adjourned at ~0;10 P.M.
