MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1949
Present: Councilman Asher, Bryan, Murray and Wiggins, also Mayor Owens.
Absent: Councilman Richbourg.
The meeting wast,called to order by Chairman Bryan at 7:30 P. M. and
the minutes of the last regular meeting held October 15, 1949 were read
and approved.
Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills, except the Rogers and Kirkland bill of $25.00.
(a) From General Funds:
Ferrell Wilson, police fees 12 cases
Bud Owens, mayor's fee 12 cases
W. H. Wurst; Clerk's fee 12 cases
A. E. Flick, repairs to fire trucks
Ferrell Wilson, police salary to 10-1-49
Cash paid out, garbage hauling, street dept. &Poatage
R. J. Mobley, Street Dept.
Dees and Lee, gas & oil
W. H. Wurst,'Clerks salary to 9-15-49 and 10~1-49
S. A. Reeves, Drain well caps
Gilliams Grocery, gas
Florida Telephone Co. bill to 9-10-49
Florida Power Corp. power & Lights to 9-13-49
w. H. Wurst-Agency, Insurance Fire Dept.
M. C. Bryan, Water dept.
State Bank of Apopka, apply on note
W. G. Stephenson, door for fire house
Asher and Fairchild, plumbing at fire house

A motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was
seconded by Councilman Asher, voted and carried.
Clerk read proposed Cigarett Tax 0rdinance, Councilman Murray made
a motion to accept this Ordinance, motion was seconded by Councilman
Wiggins, voted and carried.
Mr. S. T. Salisbury was present to discuss with the Council the grading
the street on East side of his hous~, as per letter written under the
instructions of the Council. no action taken.

At this time the Council reviewed the Rigistration Book, 28 mames were
ordered stricken from the book of those who have died or otherwise are
disqualified to vote in regular City election to be held November 1st
1949.
There being no further business, Councilman Wigggns made a motion that
. the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman r~urray,
voted and carried, Thereupon, the Council adjourned ~t 10:15 P. M.
