HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-30-1949 I I MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD I WEDNESDAY , NOVEMEBR'30, 1949 213 Present: Councilmen Bryan; Minor, Murray, Richbourg and Slone, Absent: Mayor Owens. A quorum present Meeting was called to order by Chairman Richbourg at 7:15 P.M. and the minutes of the. last regular meeting held November 17, 1949 were read. and approved. Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the follwwing bills: (a) From General Funds: L. E. Smith, 13 days marshal service to 12-1-49 w. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 12-1-50 Cash paid out for garbage hauling R. J. Mobley, Police, Fire and Street Depts. W. M. Marlett, gas for street dept. F~orida Telephone Corp. bill to 11-10-49 Florida Power Corp. power & lights to 11-9-49 Orlando Farm Equipment Store, street dept. Arvin Osteen, 9 hrs labor on streets @ .~Oi M. C. Bryan, water dept. W. H. Wurst Agency, Clerk & marshal bonds Ocoee Grill, meals to prisoners Morris Paint & Varnish Co. street paint Orlando Venetian Blind Co. blins for post office . (b) From.Utility Tax Fund: State Bank of Anopka, apply on fire house note 58.50 50.00 13 . 50 3.81 4.36 5.85 75.50 10.30 5.40 28.90 55.00 3.51 7.00 51.50 105.00 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. The copy of the letter to T. M. Colburn to vacate the street by December 17th 1949 was read by Clerk. and after much discussion, Councilman Murray made a motion to recin his motion he made on November 17th and to permit T. M. Colburn to stay there until April 1st, 1950 if he would pay his water bill beginning with October 1st. this motion was seconded by Council. man Slone, voted and carried by the Chairman voting AYE. Councilman Minor not voting, and Councilman Bryan voted NO. Clerk was instructed to write Chas H. Marks at Miami to ask him to have his property cleaned up by moving old tr.ucks and bodies, and having gaass cut. Councilman Murray made this motion and was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. Councilman Slohe made a motion that the Marshal see G. W. Grant and give him five (5)days to move trailer body or put in a sanitary condition if used for living quarters. this motion was seconded by Councilman Bryan. voted and carried. Mr. J. T. Carlisle was present and asked for permission to sell beer on Sunday's, Councilman Murray made a motion to let him open up at 1:00 o'clock P.M. and close when he wants to, this motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried by the Chairman voting AYE to Dreak ~ the tie, Councilmen Minor and, Bryan voted NO. Councilman Murray made a motion to have water line run to Scout Hut and furnis~ water free of charge, motion seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. There biing no further business, Councilman Minor made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
