HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-06-1950 I I 229 I MINUTES OF THE REGUtAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE cmTY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD THURSDAY, ~PRIL 6. 1950 Present: Councilmen Bryan, Minor, Richbourg and Slone. Absent: Coun~ilman,Murray and Mayor Owens A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richbourg at 7:30 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held March 16, 1950 were read and approved. Councilman Minor made a motion to approve the payment of the following MIls: (a) From General Funds: Returned check, insufficient fund J. N. Waters, police fees on 27 cases Bud Owens, Mayors fee on 27 cases W. H. Wurst, Clerks fee on 27 cases Cash paid out, office supplies;. garbage hauling'; water dept. and postage M. C. Bryan, Water dept Florida Power Corp. power & lights to 3-9-50 Bud Owens, balance due on 1946 Chevrolet truck George Styart, pepairs to adding machine Florida Telephone Corp. bill to 3-10-50 Burgesff Press, printing 2000 water cards Bray Hardware Co. pitch fork for street dept. Winter Garden Hardware Co. pipe & fittings water dep. W. H. Wurst Agency, Insurance on 1946 Chev.truck Winter Garden Ford, police sirene & blinker lights W. N. Creel, gas for street dept. R. J. Mobley, 2 shovels & file, street dep. C. L. Pettis, 7 hrs labor on streets @ .6g~ Roy Jones, street labor through 4-8-50 (b) From Utility Tax Fund: Florida Telephone Co. overpayment of utility Tax 10.92 54.00 27.00 27.00 56.00 27.50 78.06 550.00 9.00 7.01 7.50 3.25 18.36 78.55- 63.29 9.00 5.75 4.20 33.00 l4g.40 The motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Slobe, voted upon and carried. Motion was made by Councilman Minor to accept contract from the Saine Co. of Orlando to lay a 6" water main from the Minor Estate property to Southwest corner of the School property at rate of $2.00 per foot laid, plus the cost of cut off, corporation stops and fire hydrant. This motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted upon and carried. Councilman Slone made a motion to hire J. N. Waters as Police at $150.00 per month, also to hire Roy Jones for street work at $33.00 per week. This motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. Councilman Bryan made a motiorn that the fire trucks not to be carried out of the City Limits at any time to fight any body's fire. This motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, vote~ and carried. Councilman Minor made a motion that the Clerk be instructed to w rite each excluded property owner, that beginning May 1st 1950 a charge of $10.00 per year will be made for fire protection, the $10.00 must be paid iD advance. This motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. There being no further business, COuncilman Minor made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
