HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-05-1950 I I 251 - ~INUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5. 1950 Present; Councilmen Bryan, Minor, Murray, Slone and r.1ayor Owens Absent: Councilman Richbourg. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Minor at 7:45 P.M. and (the minutes of last regular meeting held August 18, .1950 and special meeting held August 25, 1950 were read and approved. Councilman Murray made a motion to go ahead with reading of the minutes, this motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. At this meeting the Council is to hear complaints as to assessments for the 1950 tax rolls. Letter read by Clerk from the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Co. stating they think their assessment is rather high, no action taken. Mr. L. L. 'Dudley protested to his assessment on lots 14 & 15 Blk "B" Mariom Park, unless the assessments on lot 11, Blk "B" was raised, Councilman Murray made a motion to raise the assessment on lot 11 Blk "B" to $2,000. this motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following ojills: (a) From General Fund: Cash paid out, $20. garba~e hauling, '3. street dept. $3.76 Police dept and $3.94 pffice supplies Florida Power Corp. Power and lights to 8-8-50 Florida Telephone Corp. bill to 8-10-50 Orlando Farm Equipment Store, Street dept. M & M. Welding Shop, wtare dept. arnica-Burnett Chemical Supply Co. 200# H.T.H. 70%. $30.70 73.00 4.50 32.44 9~50 56.43 (b) From Interest & Sinking Fund: $3710. The Crummer Company, $51300.00 ffbnds at .70~/plus 2% interest to 9-1-50 ~17.67 $3,727.67 Motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. Council instructed Clerk to call Faulker Inc. about leak in roof of City Hall. Councilman Murray made a motion to lease to the Lion's Club the up-stairs tQ the fire house provided it will be used for other clubs or organization: the Lion's Club to use it one night each week. Motion died for lack of a second. There being no further business, Councilman Bryan made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried.
