MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 1951
Present: Councilmen Fields, Minor, Murray, Pounds, and Slone
Also Mayor Owens.
Absent: None
A quorum present
The meeting was called to order by Chairrhan"Minor at 7:30 P.M. and the
minutes of the last regular meeting held December 19, 1950 were read and
approved:
Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills:
~a) F~om General Fund:
Cash paid out, $2. postage and $10. garbage hauling
Florida Telephone Corp. bill to 12-10-50
Florida Power Corp. Power and lights to 12-7-50
Bechtold and Horton Attorneys, retainer fee for Dec.1950
W. H. Wurst Agency, City hall insurance and Marshal bond
Orlando Armature works, water dept.
Richard Bodiford, street labor through 1-6-51
J. T. Lindsey, street labor, 40 hrs @ .60~
(D)) From' Cigarette Tax Fund:
J. J. Boggan, laying water lines
Central Fla. Well drillers, Gleaning out drain
, wells on Starke Lake
M. & M.'Welding Shop, pipe and fittings, water dept.
Florida League of Municipalities, 1951 dues

A motion to pay .aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was seconded
by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
Notice was read by Clerk from the Florida Railroad and Public Utiities
Commissiom pertaining to the elosing of the A.C.L. Depot permanently,
Councilman Murray made a motion for the City Attorneys to work up the
necessary information towards keeping the station open and have the
Attorneys to appear at the hearing January 16, 1951 in Otlando. this
motion was seconded by Coun~ilman Slone, voted and carried.
Councilman Slone made a motion to send $25.00 to the Florida League
of Municipalities for the 1951 dues, this motion was seconded by
Councilman Murray, voted and, carried.
Much discussion was carried on with the man who owns the Central Florida
Well Drillers on the fair settlement of the cleaning out of the two drain
wells on Starke Lake, the man agreed to ac~ept $400.00 for his work, a
motion to pay this bill was made by Councilman Murray, and was se~onded b:
Councilman Slone, voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds agreed to get a Certified Licensed surveyor to survey
the street and have it staked in front of Jim Helms house, the Council
agreed for him to have this done.
Councilman Murray made a motion to let Councilman Pounds and Harold
Maguire contact some Concrete Mix Company to figure the cost of paving
the front of the fire station from building to the street brick, this
motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that the
meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by C:ouncilman Murray, votel
and carried, Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
