MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, JANUARY 16, 1951.

Present: Councilmen Fields, Minor, Pounds and Slone, also
Mayor Owens.
Absent: Councilman Murray
A quorum present.
The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Minor at 7:45 P.M. and the
minutes of the last regular meeting held Janua~y 2, 1951 were read and
approved:
Councilman Slone made a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills:
(a) From General Fund:
P. M. Johns, -advance ~n salary
Richard Bodiford, street labor through 1-13-51
P. M. Johns, Sr, balance on salary to 1-15-51
W. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 1-15-51
Cash paid out, $10. garbage hauling $2. postage
Motor Vehicle. Commissioner, 3 - 1951 X tags
G. M. Stanley, pola~e duty
Dees and Lee, $10. police dept. $15.11 Street dept.
R. A. Kerr, water d ept.
Winter Garden Hdwe Co., water dept.
John D. Homan, water dept.

A- motion to pay aforesaid bills from funds above mentioned was secoonded
by Cou~cilman Fields, vot~d and carried.
The Council instructed Clerk to make 'up a check for 15 lodds of clay
to the Board of County Commissioners, at a price of $1.75 per load,
amount of check $26.25.
Councilman Fields made a motion to buy street culvert pipe .to be put
where ne~essary in street in front of B, M. Reeves, being Lake Street,
this motion was seconded by Councilman Sloge, voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to get the County grading machine the
first Saturday they will let us have it; to grade up the streets, this
motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried.
Councilman Slone made a motion to investigate the question'of whether
the Maguire Packing Co. should pay license with the Countv, and if they
don't charge then'City will not charge. This motion was seconded by
Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
Eouncilman Fields made a motion that the City Tax Collector be instructed
to certify the delinquent personal 1949 and real estabe property taxes to
City Solicitor for purpose of c~llection in conformity to the City
Charter Ordinances and Statutes of the State of Florida, this motion was
seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried.
Councilman Slone made a motion that Councilman Pounds and Fields to work
on straightening out water line situation and'have old meters repaired,
, this motion was seconded by COuncilman Fields, voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion that the Clerk write Dees and Lee that the
old car iITfront of their garage has become a hazard and must be moved by
g'anruary 19th or' the City will drag it off, this motion was seconded by
Councilman Slohe, voted and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that the
meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilm~n Pounds, voted
and carried, thereupon, the Council adjourned at 10:20 P. M.
