HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-03-1951 J l_1 l-'lINUTES OF THE REGULAR IoJlEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY, JULY 3, 1951 297 Present: Councilmen Fields, Murray, Pounds and Slone. Absent: Councilman Minor and Mayor Owens. A Quorum present The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Pounds at ~15 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held June 19, 1951 were read and approved. Councilman Fields made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a) From General Funds: Cash paid out, garbage hauling Ferrell Wilson, 4 deys police servic,e @ $6.66 Florida Telephone Corp. 'B~ll to June 10, 1951 Berryman Servic:e Station,' street dept. Johhnie's Ser~ice Station, street dept. George Stuart, Inc. Typewriter rental J. J. Boggan, Water dept. Finley Supply Co. Water dept. Richard Bodiford street labor through 7-7-51 Florida power Corp. power & Lights to 6-8-51 (b) From Utility Tax ~,nd: Florida Power Corp.. Power & Lights to 6-7-51 ' Fountain Fire Protection, Service, re-charge extinguisher 10.00 26.64 6.50 1.75 3.04 20.00 9.63 30.60 41.25 49.87 41.29 4.00 (c) From Cigarette Tax Fund: Kilgore Seed Company, Weed sprayer(25 gallon Dobbins) 192.25 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds was seconded by Councilman Murray, Voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion to have Clerk to call Falkner Roofing Co. to fix roof to Post Office and City Hall, this motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion to permit Harold Maguire to have pne large map and two small maps made of the Town, to cost about 20~ per square foot. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion for Councilman Pounds to call a Surveyor to Survey street in front of Jim Helms to see hwere the street line is, and have the houses moved back, this motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted andcarried. Councilman Murray made a'motion to accept the Resolution" as outlines in the Bond Plan of Composition, and instruct Clerk to advertise for Tenders in the Bond Buyer in New York and the Orlando Evenine Reporter Star, August 21st at 8:00 P.~1. is the date set to receive bids. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. Councilman Slone made a motion to raise Richard Bodiford's pay from .6m~. per hour to .75rt per hour. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. .Clerk was instructed to call State Road Dept. to build a bricj man-hold at Walker's service station, Clerk reported that the Mayor had appointed Ferrell Wilson on July 1st 1951 as regular policeman, as per the previous mitiutes. There being no further business, Councilman Murray made a motion that the meeting'be adjourned.
