MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, AUGUST 21.. 1951

Present: Councilmen Fields, Murray, Minor, Pounds and Slone
Also Mayor Owens.
Absent: None
-A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman l\Unor at 8: 00 P.M.
and the minutes of the last regular meeting held August 7, 1951 were
read and approved.
,Councilman Murray ma~e a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills, which includes the insurance policy for the Volunteer Fire
Department.
(a) From General Fund:
Ferrell Wilson, marshal salary to 8-15-51
W. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 8-15-51
Richard Bodifordl street labor through 8-18-51
Cash paid out , ;u>2. postage, $19.62 street dept.
Florida Telephone Corp, bill to 8-10-51
Eldon Mains, maps
State Bank of Apopka, Interest on $1,000. note
Bud Owens, Mayors fees on 30 cases
W. H. Wurst, Clerk's fees OIl: 30 -cases
Ferrell Wilson, Marshal fees on 10 cases '
Richard Bodiford, street labor through 8-25-51
Richard ~odiford, 'street labor through 9-1-51

A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds was seconded
by Councilman Slone, voted and carried.
Clerk read sealed bits for Bonds, $3,000. offered from Crurnmer 'ComBany
at $850. and $30,000. offered from M. B. Vi~k and Co, Chicago @.83~
Councilman Murray made a motion for Clerk to buy $3,500. from the Vick
Company @ .83i amounting to $2,922.50 plus accrued interest. This motion
was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
Clerk read ordinance pertaining to pig pens, cow pens and chicken coops
etc. for the second reading.
Councilman Murray made a motion to have Eldon Mains to make are-tracing
of the City map, and not to cost over $25.00. This motion was seconded by
Councilman Slone, voted and carried.
Councilman Murray made a motion to accept the resolution as prepared by
our City Attorney for the signature for 5. E. Durrance, and instruct the
Clerk and Vice Chairman to signe and put City seal and Mail to their
representative in Orlando. This motion was seconded By Councilman Fields,
voted and carried, Councilman Slone voted NO.
There ~being--'ilOlfurther business,Councilman Fields made a motion that the
Council recess until Friday night August 24th for the purpose of reviewin
the 1951 tax rolls as prepared by the Clerk, and such other meetings as
necessay to complete the valuations. This motion \'las seconded by Council-
