HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-04-1951 _I I MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCLILFOF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1951 305 Present: Councilmen Murray, Minor, Pounds and Slone. Absent: Councilman Fields and Mayor Owens. A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mimor at 8:00 P.M. and the minutes' of the last regular meeting held' August 21, 1951 were read andl approved. ' Councilman Murray made a motion to approve the payment of the following bills. (a) From General Funds: $35.13 72.25 5.50 .48 . 38.17 2.80 11.15 7.35 41.25 Cash paid out, $31; street dept. $4.13 office supplies The Burgess Press, printing office supplies Bowness Service Station, gas and oil, street dept. Joiner Auto Parts, water dept. Florida Power Corp. power & Lights to 8-8-51 Winter Garden Lumber Co. Cement for street dept. Winter Garden Hardware Co. water dept. Orlando Farm Equipment Store, Mower parts, street dept. Richard Bodiford, street labor through 9-8-51 ~ (b) From Cigarette Tax Fund: State Bank of Apopka, balance on $10,000. note & Int. $1,003.75 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion to pay from the Cigarette Tax Fund the remaining $1,000.00 l~ Interest to date, on the $10,000.00 to the State Bank of Apopka, this motion was seconded by Councilman Slone, voted and carried. Councilman Murray made a motion to buy the necessary fire equipment as outlined by Harold Maguire amounting to $157.00, this equipment being of War surplus goods, This motion was seoonded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. Clerk read for the third and last times an ordinance pertaining to pig pens, cow pens, chicken coops etc. including cages, stables and corals. Councilman Murray made amotion to adopt this ordinance, the motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds. Councilmen Murray and Pounds voted AYE. Councilmen Slone and Minor voted NO. -no,', ,..
