Absent: None A quorum present. 319 ~ The meeting was called to order by Chairman Minor- at 8:00 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held October 16, 1951 were read and approved. I Coundilman Fields made a motion to approve the apyment of the following bills; Also to tran~fer' $500.00 from the Utility Tax Fund to the General Funds, this being a matter of a temporarj loan. (a) From General Fund: Richard Bodiford, street labor through 10-27-51 George H. Horton, marshal salary to 11-1-51 w. H. Councilman Murray made a motion to set occupational license tax o~ printing press at $10.00 per year, Motion seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted & Carr Councilman Murray made a motion to buy a l! inch waster meter and connectior for the Certi-Fine Fruit Co., motion seconded by Councilman Fields, carried. At this time the Clerk read the results of the Regulan City election held November 6, 1951 from the tal ley sheets signed by the Clerk and Inspectors of the polls. The results ~re as follows: For Mayor for the term of two ywars, M. C. Byran 104 votes; Sam T. Salisbury 138 votes;. For Councilmen for term of two years, C. R. "Cliff" Freeman 146 votes; John 'L'. Minor 170 votes, and M. B. Slone 139 votes. A total of 244 votes were cast out of .)18 qualified voters. which resulting the highest number and winners, Sam T. Salisbury as Mayor, and C. R. "Cliff" Freeman and John T. Minor as Councilmen. - Gouncilman Murray made a motion to accept the poll holders count as read by th~ Clerk, and that the Election be considered legal and valid. This motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. ( over ) '320 At this time the Mayor :Elect, Sam T. Salisbury ......as sworn in office my W. H. Vlurst, Notary Public, and in turn Mayor Salisbury swore in C. R. lTCliff" Freeman and John T. .fhnor for Councilmen. The .Council proceeded to ~lect a ChairmaQ, Councilman Po~6ds made a motion to appoint Councilman Murray as Chairman, motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. Counilman Minor made a motion to appoint Councilman Pounds as Vice- Chairman, motion seconded by Counpilman Fields; vot~d and carried. Councilman T>Unor made a motion to retai,n the present Clerk and Marshal. Motion seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carr{ed. Chairman rJIurray appointed' Freeman for streets :and equipment committe with Minor assisting; Fields on water and equipment with Pounds and Freeman assisting; .- Pounds head of sanitary committe with TvIinor assisting. Councilman Pounds made a motion to put every body on water meters, motion seconded by Councilman.Freeman~ voted.and carried. There being no further business, Coun~ilman Pounds made a motion to recess this meeting subject to further notice. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
