IwlINUTES OF THE RECESSED MEETING U~' THE CITY
CUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
SATURDAY, NOVElviBER 10, 1951
Presenf: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Minor, Murray and Pounds.
Also Mayor Salisbury.
Absent: None
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Murray at 1:l,.5 P.M.
This being the recessed meeting of the regular meeting held November
7th, 1951.
Attor~ey Shuman present regarding the setting of the 1951 millage,
and report to the Council on his and J. B. Rogers trip to Tallahassee
on the Cigarette Tax Matter: Letter read from Comptroller Gay's office,
anproving the miglage to be set as 15 mills 168rTTBondtdel:)t~'~ori Homestead,
an~ 19~9 'mil~s for bond debt and operating on non-homestead. Councilman
Fields made a motion to adopt the Tax Ordinance as read for the 1951
Tax rolls. This motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried,
Councilman Minor made a motion that the Clerk and Mayor be designated to
sign all checks and other doccuments pertaining to the City of Ocoee, and!
forward the necessary signature card to the State Bank of Apopka, being
the City's desiganted depository. This motion was seconded by Councilman
Freeman, voted and. carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to buy 20 loads from the County Clay
pits @ $1.50 per load. motion seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted
and carried.
There being no further business, Cou~cilman Minor made a motion that the
meeting be adjourned. This motion was,seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted
and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 2:40 P.M.
