HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-17-1952 1 355 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF 'THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 1952 /. Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Minor, Murray and Pounds, Also Mayor Salisbury. Absent: None A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Murray at 1:55 P.M. and the, minutes of the last regular meeting June 3, 1952, and the corrections of the minutes of May 20th 1952 were read and approved. Councilman Freeman made ~ motion to approve the payment of the following bills: (a)From General Funds: Austin~ Inc., chairs for Council room W. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 6-15-52 George H. Horton, police salary to 6-15-52 Richard Bodiford, street labor through 6-14-52 Sam T. Salisbury, Mayors fees on 13 cases George H. Horton, Police fees on 13 cases W. H. Wurst, Clerks fees on 13 cases , Cash paid out, $28.50 office exp.$11.25 Street Dept. S. Z. Fields, gas and oil street dept. Opey, Peterson, 45 hrs street ,labor @ .75~ Richard Bodiford, street labor throu~ 6-21-52 (b) From Utility Tax Fund: Sinclair Refining Co. Gas for fire trucks (c) From Cigarette T~ Fund: Finley Municipal Supply Co. Water dept. Lester Harris, payment on Judgment $37~.00 and , Interest due 7-1-52 150.00 49.25 98.50 33.41 39.00 26.00 13.00 39.75 42.04 33.24 40.81 13 .89 50.00 403 .13 A motion to pay aforesaid billsfrom above mentioned funds was seconded by crouncilman Minor, voted and carried. Patition was read by Clerk which was signed by 14 property owners, asking the Council to stop spending money for annexation of various excluded properties, and call a vote of the people.' Councilman Fields made a motion that this petition be tabled, this motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, Voted and carried. Tabled for further considerationt Councilman Freeman made a motion to have the extra five streets installed to comply with the coding of the Power Corp. as reported by C"ouncilman Pounds. This motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, Voted and carried. Councilman Freeman made a motion that the Council buy 30 loads of clay from the County for street purposed and one load of shell, this motion was se~onded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Minor made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman poumds,voted and carried.
