HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-05-1952 1 361 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE caTY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY, AUGU ST 5. 1952 Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Murray and Pounds - Also Mayor Salisbury. Absent: Councilman Minor A ~uorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Murray at 8:00 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held July 15, 1952'were read and approved. Councilman Fields made a, motion to approve the payment of the following hills: (~) From General Fund: Cash paid out, $13.75 garbage hauling - $14.15 office Exp. Raymond E. Barnes, Agency, 5% Administration fee Florida Power Corp., power & Lights to 7-9-52 Stills Service Station, Gas & Oil, street dept. R. J. Mobley, materials for street dept. Burgess Press, Printing receipts books & post casds Benjamin T. Shuman, July retainer Florida Power Corp. Bill to 7-10-52 Sam T. Salisbury, Mayors fee on 12 cases George H. Horton, police fee on 12 cases W. H. Wurst, Clerk's fee on 12 cases Richard Bodiford, street labor through 8-9-52 Opey Peterson, street labor throught 8-9-52: George H. Horton, police salary to 8-15-52 w. H. WUrst, Clark salary to 8-15-52 Richard Bodiford, street labor throught 8-16-52 "(b) From Utility Tax Fund: Florida Power Corp. power & Lights; to 7-9-5~ Ma'sk Welding Shop, repairs to chlorinatror BJ.owness' Serwice Station - oil for water dept. 27.90 1.43 43.84 14.85 13.09 40.00 7.50 17.32 36.00 24.00 12,.00 62.79 32.50 98.50 49.25 40.63 58.. 75 105.69 1.50 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds w~ seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted 'and carnied. Councilman Fields made a motion to adopt the resolution as read from the Atlantic: COalSt Line Railroad Co. pertaining to the crossing at Ohio street, said resolution dated July 10, 1952. This motiom was seconded by Councilman Freeman. Councilman Fields made a motion to ,adopt resolutiom read by Clerk, to advertize in the usu&l way for City Bonds, and set September 2nd at 8: 00 P.M. to hear bids. This motion was seconded by Counc ilman Pounds', voted and earried. Councilman Freerftahmade a motion to take' o1.l:t the necessary funds from the" Utility Tax Fund t9 maKe the down payment on a new Chevrolet truck, which is to be made into a fire truck. Harold M~guire made the arangement with the State Bank of Apopka to finance it. Thos motion was seconded by Council- man Pounds, voted and carried. Councilman Fields' made a motion to rum a water pipe line across the propert~ of Mr. Boughton's to the south property line to a place where will bill m house, upon the presen~ation of a proper five (5) easement ae~~ptable to the Council. This motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, viOted & Carried After the 1952 tax roll book was reviewed and equalized on the night of July 3~st by the Council. Councilman Fields made a motion to set the night of September 2nd to hear complaints on any of the assessments. This motion was: seconded by C~uncilman Freeman, vote~ and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a~ motion that the meeting be adjourned.
