MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7. 1952 I

Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Minor, !l1urray and -Pounds,
Also Mayor Salisbury
Absent: None
A quorum present
The meeting was c'alled to order by Chairman Murray at 7: 45 P .f.1. and the~
minutes of the last regular meeting held September 16, 1952 Qere read
and approved.
Councilman Freaman made a motion to approve the payment of the following
bills:
( ~a) From General Fund:
Richard Bodiford, street labor to 9-27-52
B. D. Oliver, 40 hrs stree~ labor
w. H. Wurst, Clerk to 10-1-52
George H. Horton, Police to 10-1-52
Richard Bodiford, street labor to 10-4-52
Cash paid out, $30.00 street deptt. $10.00 office expo
Sam T. Salisbury, Mayor's fee 18 cases
George H. Horton, Police fee 18 cases
Vi. H. Wurst, Clerk fees 18 cases'
L. T. Berryman, Street-dept. gas and oil
Florida Telephone Corp. bills to 9-10-52
A. J. Thornton, meals, for prisoners
D. A. \valke:r:, Gas & Oil street dept. for Sept.

Councilman Fields made a motion to charge Mrs. H. P. Stephen $3.00 per
month for garbage hauling for the three houses', payable six months in
advance. Motion seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried.
Councilman Minor made a motion to table the sale of the City lot 30x60 ft.
until next regular meeting. motion seconded by Councilman Field, '1.& C.
Mr.... ;;J. R. Durrance asked the Council for a renewal of six months on the
water survey contract of the entire water system. ebunciiliman"'F-.-el:dsemadeca

voted and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to have 200 personal property foreclosure
forms printed, this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, Voted & Carrie
Councilman Minor made a motion to pay $10.00 for a $1,000. Bond as requirec
by the Sheriff's department to have Mr. Horton appointed as Deputy Sheriff
in Ocoee, this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted & carried.
Councilman 1v1inor made a motion that Ordinance #108 the same being an
Ordinance levying taxes for the tax year beginning November 1, 1952 an~
ending October 31, 1953 was made and; acc:epted. motion sec:onded by Couneilm(:
Fields, voted and carried. r

At this time the City Registration book was revised by the Council
taking from it the names of those persons who have died or otherwise
are disqualified voters. 28 names were ordered erased from the buok,
Couhcilrnan Fields made a ,motion that the City Registration book be
opened for registering all persons who are qualified to vote in City
election November 4th 1952. motion was seconded by Councilman P.ounds
voted and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Pounds made a motion ~hat
the meeting be adjourned. This motion was second~d by Councilman Fields,
voted and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 11: 20 P.M. - '
