Councilman Minor made a motion to app~ove the payment of the following Dlills: (a) From General FUnd: C. R. Freeman, 68 hrs street work @ .75~ s. Z. Fields, gas and oil street dept. Roger Henry, gas and oil, street dept. H. A. Creel, gas and oil street dept. Burgess Press, water dept. printing 2000 cards Pounds Motor Co. water dept. Winter garden Hdwe Co., water dept. Winter arden Lbr Co., street dept. Richard Bodiford, street labor through May 9, C. R. Freeman, street work, 39! hrs @ .75~ George H. Horton, Police salary to 5-15-53 W. H. Wurst, Clerk salary to 5-15-53 Richard Bodiford, street labor through 5-16-53 C. R. ZO 14.70 3.10 10.20 40.63 29.62 98.50 61.56 40.63 27.75 63.00 168.00 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds was seconded by COuncilman Freeman, voted and carried. Clerk read the Supreme Court R~ling on the excluded property question which reversed the ruling of Judge Pattersonl IT.lerk read the resignation of Councilm~n ~urray, Councilman Pounds made a motion that his resignation be aeg~p'te/d,~~9~ion was seconded by COuncilman Mil1l:or, voted, and carriea'. hi , .~, "w< After a little discussion as to someone to fill Mr. Murray's vacancy until the next regular election, Councilman Fields made a motion to appoint Harold Maguire, this motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted upon and carried. Councilman Minor made a motion that the Clerk ~st ,a unanimous vote in favor of Harold Maguire, the motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried. At this time Mayor Salisbury administered the Oath of Office to Harold D. Maguire as Councilman. ~,,-.- d~ C~nenman Ri::ne-r mAde a motion that HarOld D. Maguirebe appointed Chairman of the Council, motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted upon and carried. .:"".. , --l Councilman Freeman made a motion to allow Chief Horton 15 gallons of gas per week for his carl motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Freeman made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman Fields,voted and carried.
