MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL IvlEETDlG OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF GCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY. AUGUST 25. 1953
Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Ma'guire ~(l~ Pounds, and Minor
Also, Mayor Salisbury

A quorum present.
The me~ting ,~s called to order by Chairman Maguir~ at 8:00 P.M. fo~
the purpose' of hearing complaints as to the 1953' Tax roibl assessments.
C. C. Ramuset of Orlando asked' his assessment on sana pit be reduced
from $300.00, a'fter due considerattion, Councilman Freeman made at motion
that the assessment stand as is. Motion was seconded by COuncilman 1\1inor,
voted and carried.
G. E. Stevenson present.~ that his assessment wa,s out of line' in comparions
with his neighbors, but was satisfied with his assessment at $350.00 but
did'nt want any of his neighbors increased. Councilman Freeman made a
motion that his assessment stand' as is. this motion was seconded by
COuncilman Fields, voted and oarrie~.
Mrs. COlledge letter read protesting to her assessment of $2,750.00, ~fter
some consideration, Councilman Fields' mad~ ~ motion that her assessment
stand a's assessed, this motion was seconded by Councilman Minor voted and
carried.
L. Vi. CaJrroll' s letter read' in protes to his- assessment on 15 lots in
Lakeview Sub. After a little c:onsideration, COuncilman Pounds made a
motion to leave his assessment alS is'. motion was seconded by COuncilman
Freeman, voted and carried'.
Councilman Fields made a motion that the total 195J Tax Roll be accepted
as: it is now se't. this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted
and carried.
There' be ing no further busine ss, Councilman r-lino'r made a motion t-hat the'
meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by COuncilman Fields, voted
and c'arried. Thereupon, the C'ouncil adjourned; at 9:05 P.M.
