COUHGIL OF THE CITY OF OCuEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, MARCH 23. 1954
The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Fields at~:30 P.M.
to Rttend to further business and all unfinished business.
All present except Goun~ilman Minor.
C~uncilman Freeman made a motion to hire Bailey H. King as Chief of
I301icy, and retain l\tr. A. V. Perritte as his assistant, this motion vms
seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and c2rried. ^ \'lritten application
from James A. Hurst Jr., for the Police job was read at a previous meetin.
The Clerk:'made it known to the Council, that Hr. George H. Horton vTho
vlas the former policeman, placed an oraQ. application for the job.
Councilman F~eem/a~ade a motion to hire l-lr. Sam Oliver to take charge of
all plumbing for th~ City including reading of meters at a salary of'
$50.00 per week, motion seconded by Councilman P6und~,voted and carried.
Council requested Clerk to make up a form contract for fire protection
to include the excluded property o\'mers as well as the ftinge areas, at
a rate cf $5.00 per year or ~10 .00 for three years payable in advance
for each dwellin and or commercial building, effectinve as of Janua~y
1st 1954.

There being no further business, Councilman F]!ce:mj' made a motion that the'
m'3~ting be adjourned, This motion was se;conded' by C uncilman Pounds,
voted 2nn carried. Thereupon, the COnncil adjournedt'at 10:00 P.M.
