MINUTES OF' THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOE~, FLORIDA~ HELD
TUESDAY. OCTOBER 6. 195~

Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Einor and Pounds,
Absent: Mayor Salisbury & CounCllman Maguire: - - - A quorum present
The meeting was call'ed to order by Vice-Chairman Fields at 8: 30 P. M.
and the minutes of the last regular meeting held September 21, 195~
were read and approved.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to approve the payment of all bills-
except the Winter garden Lumber Co.
(a) From General Fund:

A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentionedi funds was
seconded by Councilman; Minor '" voted and carried.
Councilman Freeman made a motion that no long distance; calls' to be
made on Police or Fire Department phone, this motion was seconded by
Councilman Minor, voted and carried.
The City Registration book was revised on September 7th by the City
Council, 28 names were removed of those who have died or otherwise
disqualified themselves the right to vote in City elections, and d
the same time the Council order th~ book to be open for purpose of
registering those who havenot registered, and will remain open until
ten days before the election.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to pa.y street and sanitation man
$40.00 per week, this motion was Aeconded by Cbubcilman Pounds, voted
and carried.
Oouncilman Freeman made a motion to pay City Manager $52.50 per week,
this motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted,and carried.
Councilman Freeman, made a motion to set millage for 1954 tax ~ 15
mills for Homestead Property and 19.9 mills for Non-Homestead',. this
motion was seconded by Councilman Minor, voted and carried.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to give City Attorney a check for
$336.00 for approximately 15 acres of land, being lots: 5, 6 and 7,
Block 5, Town of Ocoee, being the property of' J. G. Friedland, and
land to be used a dumping ground.
There being no further busdmess, Councilman Pounds made motion that
,the meeting be adjourned, Thi8motio~was seconded by Councilman Minor
voted and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned a,t 11.10 P.M.
