I\IINUTES OF THE RECES~JED MEETING OF THE C;ITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, F:LORIDA, HELD
VVED.NESDAY, OCTUBER 2Q. 1954.
Pre sent: C'ouncilmen Fields, Freeman, ~1aguire and Pounds,
Absent: Councilman Minor.
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Maguire at 11:30 A.M.
Gouncilman Fields made a motion to accept Ordinance No. 1501 being
an Ordinance of the C:ity of Ocoee regulating the date of ho ding
regular City elections and defining the date of qualification of
candidates for election: of offi~e in the Uity G8ve-rnment and the'
assessme nt of a qualifying fee to help defray the expenses of the
City Elec:tion, this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds,
voted and ~arried.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to accept the written recommendations
to be Policeman for the City of Ocoee, as follows: Ivlale, White, between
21 and 50 years of age, High School education or its equigalent - Familar
\'lith the' use and proper care of fire arms - Must pass' a physical exam-
ination by a Physician - Furnish City a $1000.00 Bond at his expense
each year as long as he is employed. - Furnish is o....m uniform of acceptable
type for Police Duty - Must have Chauffeurs drivers license. This motion
was se~onded by Councilman Pounds. voted and carried.
There being no further business', Councilmap Freeman made a motion to
re~ss' this meeting until further notice, this motion was seconded by
Councilman Fields, voted and carried, Thereupon, the Council recessed
at 11:45 A.M.
