MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCILZOF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY', NOVEMBER2, 1954
Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Ma~ire, Minor and Pounds
Absent: Mayor Salisbury
A quorum present.
The meetinc was called to order by Chairman Ma!Uire at 8:20 P.M. and
the minutes of the last re&ular meetinc held October 19, 1954 and
resessed meetin: held October 20, 1954, the recessed meetin~ held
October 28, 1954, and recessed meetinc held November 1, 1954 were
read and approved.
C'ouncilman Fields made a motion to' approve the payment of all bills
except that of Derby and Green, as follows:
(a) From General.Funds:

A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds was
se~nded by Councilman Freeman, voted and earried.
At this time the Clerk read the results of the Clerk and Inspectors of
the Cityt~ Election held November 2, 1954 to elect three councilmen for
a term of two years, total votes cast were 256 which reads as follows:
Delma E: Fields 128 votes; Talmadge S. Hardy 110 votes; Frank B. Holmes
116 votes; Edwin H. Pounds 168 votes; Odis Reeves 105 votes; G. E.
Stephens 108 votes, leavinc Fields, Holmes and Pounds as receivin, the
hi:hest number of votes and is elected as Councilmen for two year term.
Councilman Minor made a motion to accept the election board count of
votes, motion was seconded by Coun~ilman Pounds,voted and carried.
Justice of the Peace Tucker of District 3, administered the oath of
office to each duly elected ~ndidates, as was seated as Councilmen.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to appoint Councilman Minor as Chairman,
motion was seconded bY,Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to, appoint Councilman Holmes as Vlc9-
Chairman, motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted and carried.
Chairman Minor appointed Councilman Freeman head of street dept with
Councilman Holmes as assistin&. all other department heads will remain
_.the same as before.
Councilman Fields made a motion to save street lichts put in for Mrs.
In&old, Church of God, and at Johnson, also to have dead oak cut down.
this motion was seconded by" C'otlncilman Pounds, voted and carried.
There bein~ no further business Councilman Fields made a motion to adjorn
this motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted and carried. There-
