MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, MAY 17. 1955

Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Holmes, Minor and Pounds.
Absentl: None
A quprum present
~he meeting was called to order by Chairman Minor at 8:40 P.M., the
minutes of the last regular meeting held May 3, 1955 and the minutes
of the recessed meeting held May 6, 1955 was read and approved.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to approve the payment of the
following bills:
(a) From General Fund:
John T. Minor Mayor Pro Tem fees
~. H. Wurst, Clerk's fees
Atlantic Chemical Co. water dept.
W. H. Wurst Agency, apply on insurance
Sam Oliver, water dept.
Anthony Sholes, street dept.
O. G. smith, street dept.
Orange C'ounty Fireman Assn.
Spencer C. Cross, apply on attorney fees

A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned funds was seconded
by Councilman Fields, Voted and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to offer the State Bank of Apopka the
$900.00 worth of Bonds as security in lieu of taking Fire, Theft and
collision insurance on the three units. This motion was seconded by
Councilman Freeman, voted and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to purchase $10,000. worth of Bonds from
The Crummer Company of Orlando at a price of 91i plus accrued interest to
date, this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to pay $10.00 dues to the Orang'e County
Fireman's Assn. in care of Jerry Webb, 1024 - 27th street, Orlando, This
motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, Voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to purchase four tires and tubes for the
Police car from the Pure Oil Co., Orlando, Fla., This motion was seconded
by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
Councilman !i'ields:;:t>1ade a motion to write the T & G Railroad and the A. C. L.
Railroad to fix their crossings, and to contact Captian Dollar to have
road signs put up pointing to Ocoee, This motion was seconded by Councilman
Freeman, Voted and aarried.
Councilman Freeman made amotion to buy 50 loads of clay from the County
at $1.75 per load, this motion was seconded by Councilman Fields, voted
and carried.

Councilman Fields made a motion to pay Spencer C. Cross $200.00
to appy on atoorney fees, 'this motion was seconded by Councilman
Pounds, voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 306, being
an Ordinance dec':laring the intentions of the City of Ocoee, Florida
to annex a certain tract ,of unincorporated land lying contiguous
to the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee and situated in Orange
County Florida, to-wit: Begin at a point of the Section line between
sections 19 and 20, Twp. 22, S.R. 28 East6 4.5 chains south of the
NW corner of the SWi of the NW~ of Se c:. 2 , Twp. 22, S. R. 28 east,
run thence South 9 chains thence East 9 chains, North 9 chains, I
thence west 9 chains to place of beginn~ng, containing eight acres
more or less. This motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted
and carried.
Councilman Bounds made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 307, being
an Ordinance declaring the intentions of the City of Ocoee, Florida,
to annex a certain tract of unincorporated land lying contiguous to
the municipal boundaries of the City of ,Ocoee and situated in Orange
County Florida, to-wit: Eight acres in the ,SW conner of the SWt, of
Sec. 20, T~~. 22, S.R. 28 East, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a stake at the SWcorner of the said SW~ of Wn~ of Sec.
20f T\'lp. 22, S. R. 28 East, run East 13! chains, North 6 chains,West
134 chains, .South 6 shains to point of beginning, Comtaining eight
acres more or less. This motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman,
voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 308, being
an Ordinance declaring the intention of the City of Ocoee, Florida,
to annex a certain tract of unincorporated land lying contiguous to
the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee and situated in Orange
County, Florida, to-wit: Beginning at a point 5 chains East of the

NW corner of the SE4 of the NW4 of Sec. 20, Twp. 22, S.R. 28 East,
run East 8 chains, South 12! chains, West 8 chains, North 12~ chains
to point of beginning. This motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman,
Voted and carried.

Councilman Pounds made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 309, being
an Ordinance declaring the intentions of the City of Ocoee, Florida,
to annex a certain tract of unincorporated land lying contiguous to
the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee and situated in Orange
County Florida, to-wit: Beginning at a point 9 chains East of the
NW corner of t.he SW~ of the NW~ of Sec. 20, Twp.22, S.R. ~8 East,
thence running South 13! chains to Butler's land, thence East 4 1/3
chains, thence South 6 chains thence East 11 2/3 chains, thence
North 19~ chains to quarter section line, thence West 16 chai~s to
place of beginning, Containing 30 acres more or less. This motion
was seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion that
the meeting be adjourned. This motion was seconded by Councilman ~ounds
voted and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 10:15 P.M. '
