HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 895 e e 'I ORDINANCE NO. 895 FIRST READING: 6-03-86 SECOND READING: 7-01-86 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 833, APPENDIX B OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ALSO KNOWN AS THE OCOEE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE MODIFICATION OF RIGHTS-OF-WAY AND PAVING WIDTHS FOR STREET CUL-DE-SACS; PRO- VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee is growing exceedingly rapidly; and, WHEREAS, the protection of persons and property is of tantamount importance to the City of Ocoee; and WHEREAS, the standards for subdivision development must ensure adequate emergency services access even during extremely hazardous circum- stances. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That Article VI, Section 6.3.2 of Ordinance 833, Appendix B of the City of Ocoee Code of Ordinances, is hereby repealed. SECTION 2: That Article VI, Section 6.3.2 of Ordinance 833, Appendix B of the City of Ocoee Code of Ordinances, also known as the Ocoee Subdivision Ordinance shall henceforth read as follows: Cul-de-sacs shall be provided with a paved turnaround radius of at least forty-five (45) feet in residential subdivisions and at least fifty (50) feet in commercial and industrial subdivisions. The right-of-way radius for cul-de-sacs shall be at least fifty-five (55) feet in residential sub- divisions and at least sixty (60) feet in commercial and industrial subdivisions. Cul-de-dacs shall have a maximum length of eight hundred (800) feet as measured from a street having two-way access to an outlet. Larger pavement and right-of-way widths shall be required if determined to be neces- sary for emergency access purposes. CuI-de -sacs shall be designed into subdivisions only in instances where topography or lot layout dictaues their need, as opposed to providing looped or continuous street systems. All cul-de-sacs shall have at least two (2) approved "No Parking" signs erected by the developer. SECTION 3: That if any portion of this Ordinance is determined to be unconstitutional or otherwise void, the remainder of the Ordinance shall retain its effectiveness.
