HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 776 r First Reading 9/20/83 Second Reading 10/18/83 ORDINANCE NO. 776 e AN ORDINANCE REOUIRING A DEPOSIT PRIOR TO RECEIVING WATER SERVICE FROM THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT OF THE DEPOSIT REQUIRED, PROVIDING THAT THE DEPOSIT SHALL BE APPLIED TOWARD PAYMENT OF OVERDUE AND UNPAID SERVICE CHARGES AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. e BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. Each new applicant for water service provided by the City of Ocoee, Florida, shall be required to deposit the sum of Fifty and No/100 Dollars with the City of Ocoee as security for the payment of regular service charges before water service shall be provided to each user. SECTION 2. If a bill for regular water service remains unpaid for a period of 60 days after its rendition, the City of Ocoee may, at its option, apply all or part of such water deposit toward payment of all or part of the unpaid bill for regular service. ' SECTION 3. If any portion of the water deposit is applied toward payment of a delinquent bill, the money so used shall be replaced by the user before additional water service shall be furnished by the City of Ocoee. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be effective 30 days after passage by the City Commission of the City of Ocoee, Florida. ENACTED this 18th day of October, 1983.
