HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 7290 • ORDINANCE N0. 7a JecCni�i��a CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA; MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT;DESCRIBING THE PROPERTY TO BE ANNEXED; INCORPORATING SAID PROPERTY INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Charles M. Hodge the owner '' o"f'h"e fofl`owin`g ``'described parcel of real property, has requested and petitioned the City of Ocoee, Florida, to annex the same in and to the municipal boundarie of said City; and t WHEREAS, said fee simple owner has filed his Petitions and Consents with the City Commission as provided by Article 1, Section 6.1, of the City Charter of the City of Ocoee, and Section 171.044, Florida Statutes; and WHEREAS, a public hearing as provided by Article 1, Section 6.1, of the City Charter of the City of Ocoee was held on the question of annexation of said parcel of real property no less than 10 days and not more than 60 days from the date of the filing of such petition with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee, Florida, has made an independent examination of the said property and determined, and does hereby find, that the area involved qualifies for municipal benefits and that it is in the best interests of the City of Ocoee that such area should be annexed to and be included in the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee, does hereby find and determine that said property is in incorporated area of Orange County and is contiguous to municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida and NOW THEREFORE, Florida an un - the is compact; BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the following described parcel of real roperty owned by Charles M. Hodge, located in Orange County,Florid e and same hereby is incorporated into and made part of the unicipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida; The West 185 feet of the North 117.8 feet of the South 961.22 feet of the East 370 feet of the East one-half of the Southeast one-quarter of the Northeast one-quarter of Section 17, Township 22 South, Range 28 East in Orange County, Florida. Section 2. That the City of Ocoee, Florida shall have all the power, authority, and jurisdiction over and within the lands described in Section 1 hereof, and of the inhabitants thereof, and the property therein, as it does have over its present corporate limits, and all the laws, ordinances and resolutions of the said City shall apply and have equal force and effect as if all the territory had been a part of the City at the time of passage of such laws, ordinances and resolutions. Section 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately on passage by the City Commission of the City,'of Ocoee, Florida.
