OF OCOEE, FLORIDA AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA; MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT; DESCRIBING THE PROPERTY TO BE ANNEXED; INCORPORATING SAID PROPERTY INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. y- WHEREAS, Ri vers i de Group, Inc., (Formerly known as Charter Land and Housing Corporation), the owners of the following describ- ed parcel of real property, has requested and petitioned the City of Ocoee, Florida, to annex the same in and to the municipal bound- aries of said City; and WHEREAS, said fee simple owners have filed their Petitions and Consents with the City Commission as provided by Article 1, Section 6.1, of the City Charter of the City of Ocoee, and Section 171.044, Florida Statutes; and ~ ~ o o WHEREAS, a public hearing as provided by Article 1, Section 6.1 of the City Charter of the City of Ocoee was held on the question of annexation of said parcel of real property no less than 10 days and not more than 60 days from the date of the filing of such petition with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee, Florida, has made an independent examination of the said property and determined, and does hereby find, that the area involved qualifies for municipal benefits and that it is in the best interests of the City of Ocoee that such area should be annexed to and be included in the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee, Florida, does hereby find and determine that said property is in an un- incorporated area of Orange County and is contiguous to the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida and is compact; 175-{[iSO r''{;, ',-, c..., to, .-, J:i i54/{J9/ ?1~ ~"'lo: 13: 10~~n NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF OC01,E.) That the City of Ocoee, Florida shall have all the power, authority, and jurisdiction over and within the lands described in Section 1 hereof, and of the inhabitants thereof, and the property therein, as it does have over its present corporate limits, and all the laws, ordinances and resolutions of the said City shall apply and have equal force and effect as if all the territory had been a part of the City at the time of passage of such laws, ordinances and resolutions. ChinlIU ClIa," " , ~ '" ~ ......... -- e . , . .:_.;r.....'<""'""'" "l'-:-"'i""'~::"'" , ; > (" PETITION FOR VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION TO: Mayor and City Council Ocoee, Orange County, Florida COMES NOW RIVERSIDE GROUP, INC., a Florida corporation, formerly known as CHARTER LAND AND HOUSING CORPORATION, a Florida corporation, by and through their undersigned authorized agent, as owners of real property in the unincor- porated area of Orange County, Florida, lying generally along and against the city limits of the City of Ocoee. This unin- corporated area is described as follows: The S 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 8, Township 22 South, Range 28 East, Orange County, Florida. The property described herein is a compact parcel of approximately eleven (11) acres contiguous with the souths ide of the existing city limits. Municipal services can easily be extended without significant expenditure and any cost thereof should be offset by an increase in taxes available to the city. WHEREFORE, the Petitioner, RIVERSIDE GROUP, INC., requests that the City Council accept this Petition under the authority of Florida Statutes 171.044(1) and thereafter initiate all necessary procedures for the annexation of the area described herein.
