HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-06-1956 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD -!UESDAY.MARCH. 6, 1956 14'1' Present: Councilmen, Fields, Freeman, Holland, Holmes and Pounds Absent: None A quorum present the meeting was called to order by Chairman Holmes at 8:00 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held February 21, 1956 were read and approved. Councilman Fields made a motion to amend the minutes of last regular meeting to meter all church and the womans club, be an option, to charge a $4.00 minimum per month, or be metered and charged for the meter. this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. Gouncilman Freeman made a motion to' purchase one Allis-Chalmers road scraper Serial No. D-1126 from the Square Deal Machinery Co. for $3,000. and to pay $1~000. down from the Emergency Fund~ and to make resolution to the State ~ank of Apopka for the other #~,OOu. for two years, with interest at 5%" payable monthly. motion was seconded by Counc ilman Holland, voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion for Shelby Greene to be called in when .needed on the books just as a consultant, f~ee gratis, motion was seconded by Councilman Freeman, voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion that if Pease wm ts to pay the Auditor to check over bonds and receipts and retirement value for:: a bond credit left with the City to apply on back taxes and paving assessment that he owed priot to 1938, and such bonds were of the 1925 issues, and if such bond credits are -held valid, to give him credit for old back taxes at the discression of the Auditor, and that if Pease sells his property, that such credits will be wiped out. Motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted upon and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to adopt Ordinance No.335 being an Ordinance declaring the intention of the City of Ocoee, Florida, to annex a certain tract of unincorporated land lying contiguous to the municipal boundares of the City of Ocoee and situated in orange count,~lorida, to-wit: Begin at SE corner of SW~ of SEi of Sec.lS, Twp. 22 South Range 2S E. run west 382.3 feet, thence north 371.6 feet for point of starting: run thence west 135 feet, north 60 feet, east 135 feet, south 60 feet to point of starting. Motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds:- Councilmen Fields Freeman, Holland, Holmes and Pounds Voted AYE. There being no further business, Councilman Fielda ma: de a motion to adjourn.
