MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY. AUGUST 7. 1956

Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Holmes, Holland and Pounds.
Absent: None
A quorum present.
The meeting \"l8S called to order by Chairman Hokfhes,,', at 8: 30 P.M. and
the minutes of last regular meeting held July 17, 1956 were read and
approved.
Councilman Fields made a motion to adjourn the last regular meeting
held July 3, 1956. motion was seconded by Councilman Holland, voted
and carried.
Councilman Freei~n made a motion to approve the payment of the following'
bills:

Stuart Watson, office work
John T. Minor mayors fees 4 cases
W. H. Wurst, Clerks fee, 4 cases
C. R. Freeman, battery for fire dept
Conrads Garage police dept
Bray Hdwe Co. City Hall Bldg
Bailey Motor Equipment Co. Police dept
Florida Telephone Corp. bills to 7-10-56
Hood Tractor Co. street dept
Pounds Pharmacy, Police dept
Glenn Joiner, street dept
Florida Power Corp. power & Lights to 7-5-56

A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned fund WdS
seconded by Councilman Fields, voted and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to hire W. H. Wurst as Clerk with an
increase in pa~ to $180.00 per month, the increase recoractive to
July 1, 1956. This motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted
and carried.
The Council authorized the Clty Attorney to make Ordinances to bring
the Bowness property back in or be annexed.
At this time the Council set the assessments to all property taxable
for the 1956 tax rolls, that property which has been improved and all
property that was annexed prior to January 1, 1956. And set the next
regular meeting of August 21, 1956 at 8:00 to head any and all complaints.
Lett~from Mrs. Angela McCabe was shown to the Council, as application
for the Clerk's job, this letter setting out her varied business
experiences, no action taken.
There being no further business, Councilman Fields made a motion to
adjourn, This motion was seconded ny Councilman Holland, voted and
carried. Th~reupon, the Council adjot~ned at 1.45 A.M.
