'---, .., < I I r-IINUTES OF THE REGULAR I"lEETING OF THE CITY COUnCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD _" TUESDAY, SEPTElvlBER 4, 1956 Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Holmes, Holland and Pounds 165 Absent: None A quorum present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Holmes at 8:15 P.M. and the minutes of last regular meeting held August 21, 1956 were read and approved. Councilman Fields made a motion to approve the payment of all bills except those of Hughes, Davis and Southern Pipe, and a s follows: (a) From General Fund: Ca~~ paid out - office supplies John T. Mobley, street dept Glenn Joiner, street dept Winter Garden Lbr Co. Street dept Sam Oliver, water dept Richard Bodiford, street dept O. G. Smith, street dept E. A. Baker, water depost refund S~nthony Sholes, street dept T. M. Councilman Pounds made a motion to wiite the Great 90uthennTrucking Co. and send a copy to the Puritan Chemical Co. that~"yhe weed killer is not needed and due the a misunderstanding with their salesman, for it to 00 returned to them, motion Wr.,S seconded by Councilman Fie.ld s, voted &, Carrie Councilman Fields made a motion to have the Florida Unemployment Compensation form made out and send in to see what it would cost, this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. Councilman Holland made a motion to have an Ordinance l1E.de up to prohibit. drinking intoxicating beverages on public and private property, motion was secDnded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to have Attorney draw up ordinance for collecting all past due taxes as prescribed by ordinance, motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. 16S Councilman Fields mmde a motio9 to accept budget for 1956 and 1957 and have ordinance made up, aw~ set the millage the same as last year, being 15 mille on homestead and 20 mills on non-homestead property. motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion that all delinquent taxes be turned over the the City Attorney for collections, motion was seconded by Councilman Holland, voted and carried. There being no further business Councilman Holland made a motion to recess. This motion was seconded by Cpuncilman Fields, voted and carried. Thereupon, the Council recessed ~ 10:30 P.M. ]I.
