MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY
.COUN.GIL '-;OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
WEDNESDAY. N,OVEMBER 7., 1956

Present: Councilmen Fields, Freeman, Holland, Marsden and Pounds
Absent: None
A quorum present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor M~nor, acting as Chairman at
9:00 P.M.
The Council proceeded to appoint a Chairman and other heads of the
various departments.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to appoint Councilman Freeman as
Chairman, motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden, voted and carried.
Councilman Holland made a motion that Councilman Fields be appointed
as Vice-Chairman, motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted & Carried
Chairman Freeman appointed the following as Chairman's and Vice-Chairman's
of the various departments.
Councilman Fields as Chairman of the water department and Councilman
Pounds as Vice-Chairman.
Councilman Pounds as Chairman of the Sanitary Department and Councilman
Marsden as Vice-Chairman.
Councilman Holland as Chairman of the Street department and Councilman
Fields as V~~-Q~irman.
Councilman ~s Chairman of the Equipment, and Councilman Holland
as 'Vice-Chairma,n. ,r'J~ .
Councilman Marsden as Chairman of Property and Fire Department, and
. Councilman Pounds as Vice-Chairman.
Councilman Holland made a motion to hire Spencer C. Cross as City
Attorney, this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, voted & Carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion to retain W. H. Wurst as Clerk-Treas,
this motion was seconded by Councilman Pounds, Voted and carried.
Councilman Fields made a motion that the Council go on record to get
our High School back and write a letter to Mr. Earl KiPPl the County
School Superintendelit, This~,mot;i.9n',wa.s seconded by Councl.lman Hollani,
Voted and carried unanimously.
Councilman Pounds made a motion that Councilman Fields aet as Chairman
of the Schmol Committee and Countilman Freeman as Vice-Chairman, this
motion was seconded by Councilman Marsedn, voted and carried.
Councilman Holland made a motion to pay the Clerk1 Inspectors and Deputy
$9.00 each for serving on election polls for the t!.egular C'ity Election
November 6, 1956. motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden. voted & Carriec
There bieng no further business, Councilman Pounds made a motion to adjournl
this motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden, vobed and carried.
Thereupon, the Council adjourn at 10:50 P.M.
