A quorum present The meeting was called to order by Chairman Freeman at 8:30 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held December 18, 1956 were read add approved' Councilman Fields'made a motion to approve the payment of the bills as follows: (a) From Genaral Fund: Florida Telephone Co bills to 12-10-56 Holler Motors, Police dept R'ray., -Hdwe Co. water dept S. Z. Fields, water & police dept Florida Power Corp~ Power ~ Lights to 12-2-56 W. H. Wurst,Agency, Insurance, City Hall Edward A. Little" deposit refund Sam Oliver, water Dept Richard Bodiford, street dept 0.' G. Smith" street dept Charlie Helms, street dept Edwin V. Towne, Jr., Police dept John T. Minor, mayors fees 5 cases W. H. Wurst, Clerks fee, 5 cases C. E. Goodson, deposit refund O. A.. S. I. Contribution, Fund, 4th quarter,1956- Sam Oliver, Water dept o. G. Smith, street dept Richard Bodiford, street dept Charlie~ Helms, street dept Larry's Grocery, deposit refund 5.30 1.40 8.83 36.41 211 .50 44.72 5.00 58.65 41.54 41.54 41.54 1.00 15.00 5.00 5.00 157.99 58.65 41.54 41.54 41.54 5.00 A motion to pay aforesaid bills from above mentioned fund was sedonded by Councilman, Marsden, voted and carried. The Council requested a letter be written to the Ocoee Lions Club for their efforts put forth for the Christmas program, also, to the Winter Garden Chamber of Commerce for recognizing the City Officials in participating in their animal Christmas parade. Councilman Marsden made a motion to officially hire Denver n. Burlison as Policeman, this motioIill was seconded by Councilman Pounds, v,oted and carried. Councilman Fields made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 361, being an ordinance declaring the intentions of the City of Ocoee, Florida to anne~: a certain tract of unincorporated land lying contiguous to the municipal_boundaries of the City of Ocoee and situated in Orange County, Florida, to-wit: The West 336 feet of the NW~ of the NE~ of Section 11, Township 22, South Range 28 East. Thi:s motion was secDnded by Councilman Pounds. - touncilmen, Fields, Freeman, Holland, Marsden and Pounds voted AYE. No. no's, voted and carried. Councilman Holland made a motion to accept the resignation of W. H. Wurst, as Clerk and Treasurer, and hire Mrs. Angela C. McCabe at $175.00 per month" and to'designate the State Bank of Apopka as City Depository, and designate the Mayor and Clerk to sign all checks and other instruments necessary, add ill1 the Absence of the Mayor, Councilman Edwin' H, Pounds shall sign. The same shall apply to safe deposit box No. 1226. This motion vIas seconded by Councilman Marsden, voted and carried. There being no further business, Councilman Marseen made a motion to adjourn, this motion was seconded by Councilman Holland, voted and carried. Thereupon, the Council adjourned at 10:25 P.M.
