MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY, MAY 7TH. 1957

Present; Councilmen Freeman, Fields, Marsden, Holland and Pounds.
Absent; None
A quorum Present
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Freeman at S;15 P.M.
and the minutes of the last regular meeting and the minutes of the
special meeting, held April 25th.1957 were read and approved.
A motion was made by Councilman Holland

A Motion was made by Councilman Fields that City Clerk write to
Atlantic Coast Line R. R. Sanford, Florida, regarding the excess-
ive blowing of whistles by trains coming thru Ocoee, especially
at night. Seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried.
A Motion was ~ade by Councilman Fields that the City accept the
resignation of Policeman Cloyd T. White, effective May 12th.1957.
Seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Pounds that Policeman A. V. Perritte
be promoted to Chief of Police, with an increase in salary of $25.00
a month. Seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Fields that City Clerk write a letter
to General R. Betts, Civil Defense, Orlando, Florida, requesting
that a two hundred bed mobile Hospital unit be sent to Ocoee, to be
used in case of attack or emergency. Motion was seconded by Council-
man Marsden. Voted and carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Fields that the City of Ocoee pay
traveling expenses for necessary number of men to go to Camp Bland-
ing, to choose material to be used for Civil Defense in case of
attack or emergency. Motion seconded by Councilman Holland. Voted
and carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Pounds made a motion
to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and
carried. Thereupon Council Adjourned at 10;30 P. M.
