Absent: None I The meeting was called to order by Councilman Freeman at 9;30 P.M. and the minutes of the last regular meeting held October 21st. 1958 and the minutes of the recessed meeting held October 3lst.1958 were read and approved. Motion to adjourn the recessed meeting of October 3lst.was made by Council- man Marsdeu.Seconded by Councilman Fields. Voted and carried. A Motion was made by Councilman Fields to approve the payment of the follow- ing bills. Motion seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried. The total number of votes cast was 3(4, which read as follows.ln Group 3, Richard A Doss,Jr. l37votes, Edwin Pounds 223 votes, In Group. 4,. Delma Fields, 149 votes, Porter Fox 25 votes, 286 Raymond Howell 187 votes. Group 5, Jack Marsden 182 votes, Eldridge P Miller 164 votes. 1 write in vote for Louis Whitehead, 1 writein vote for Oscar Sanders. Making the highest number of votes for Edwin Pounds, Jack Marsden and Raymond Howell, and they are. duly elected as Councilmen for two years. On the proposed Liquor Store question the vote was 62 for and 262 against. Council Pounds made a motion to accept the above. Motion was seconded by Co- uncilmen Holland and voted for by Coumcilmen Fields, Holland, Pounds, Marsden a and Freeman. Passed. unanimously. . . At this time Mayor Pat Broadaway adminstered the Oath of Office to the newly elected Councilmen. . . A mo~ion was made by Councilman Holland to again appoint Councilman 1 Freeman as President of Council. Motion seconded by <<ItifilIIMIfiXIJXXX Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried. A motion was made by Councilman Holland ':.that Councilman Pounds be ap- pointed as Vice- Chairman. Motion seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried. . President of Council Freeman then appointed the following as Chairman and vise chairman of the various departments. Councilman Pounds as Chairman of Sanitation Dept, and Councilman Howell as Vice-Chairman. Councilman Howell as chairman of Street Dept. and Councilman Holland as Vice Chairman. Councilman Holland as Chairman of Water Dept. and Councilman Marsden as Vice- Chairman. Councilman Marsden as Chairman of Fire Dept. and City Equiptment and Councilman Councilman Holland as Vice- Chairman. Councilman Pounds to continue to have authority to sign checks for the City in the absence of the Mayor. Councilman Holland to continue as Zoning Commissioner. A motion was made by Councilman Marsden to retain Mrs. Angela McCabe as Clerk-Treasurer. Motion seconded by Councilman Holland. Voted and carried. There being no further business A motion was made by Councilman Holland to recess. Motion seconded I by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried. Thereupon Council recessed at 10:15 P. M.
